The B3LOCAL February Team Meeting was held on Sunday, February 5th at the B3 Office. B3LOCAL students and team leader, Molly Claflin, had fun playing team building games and getting to know each other better.
B3LOCAL students brought an impressive array of art supplies for the school supply drive to the meeting. The supplies were packed up for all B3 teams to bring to Ecuador. Thank you B3LOCAL!
The next B3LOCAL team meeting will be held on Sunday March 5th, at 2:45pm at the B3 Office.

This year marks fourteen years working with this amazing organization and my 12th trip abroad with B3. Each year I feel so blessed to play a part in the amazing and important work B3 does both locally and globally. As a high school teacher of environmental science, I spend most of my year in the classroom trying to teach and empower students to take an active role in improving their planet and their community. Some students get it, but many don't. ALL the students, however, that participate in B3 embrace this message wholeheartedly and make it their own. Their lives are changed because of it and my life has been changed because of that. I can think of nothing more inspiring than to watch this change unfold in the B3 family each and every year. Outside of teaching, I had served for 7 years as director and farmer at Wakeman Town Farm in Westport and am now serving on the Board of Directors of Builders Beyond Borders. I live in Milford with my wife, Carrie, and two young children, Ethan and Cora. Looking forward to another great year!

I joined B3 out of the blue in 2010 as a junior in high school. On Day1 of local volunteering I made amazing friendships that only strengthened when I traveled to Ecuador and Nicaragua with team Rock-It. I still talk about digging trenches taller than me to put a water system in the mountains of Ecuador and carrying extremely heavy wires through the roads of Nicaragua with my sister to build a bridge. B3 is a family affair at this point, I was super lucky to travel with my sister and once we both graduated our mom started going as an advisor! After high school I went to the University of New Hampshire where I majored in Mechanical Engineering, minored in Spanish and was a 2-year captain of the D1 Track and Field team. Since college I have moved back to Fairfield where I work as a project engineer designing baggage systems at airports, (if you've ever lost a bag before, sorry!!). When I'm not at work you can usually find me at the gym where I recently started working as a support trainer, or outside staying active. I am a very competitive person and will be looking forward to bringing home as many golden shovels as possible, especially if it means taking it from a rival team advised by my mother!!

I originally joined B3 as a freshman at Staples High School, and ended up being a four-year senior. I loved every minute of my B3 experiences, and could not wait to come back. I have been a part of B3 for over 14 years now, and I very much look forward to seeing Estrellon continue to grow as a team while continuing the traditions, energy, and team spirit that we have developed. Currently, I am working as a Director in the Deal Structuring, Management, and Execution Team at Finacity Corporation in Stamford, specializing in the securitization of trade receivable. When I’m not at work or at a B3 event, I enjoy running, cycling, playing soccer, photography and listening to music.

This year will mark my seventh trip with B3! I went on four trips as a student at Staples High School, and was an advisor on the Mejuntos team previously. I absolutely loved my experience as an advisor. It was so rewarding to get to know the students on the team and be part of their B3 experiences! B3 provides such a unique opportunity to give back and develop personally, so when I started working I knew it was something I wanted to reconnect with. I have been to five countries with B3. I’m looking forward to another great year and to working in Ecuador with the Estrellon team.
