This year in place of the traditional Blackberry Festival we are planning a mobile scavenger hunt. Individual players and teams will follow the clues to different attractions, businesses and landmarks in Caldwell County. Participants will earn points for all of the clues and challenges that they complete using a smartphone app. The team or individual that earns the most points will win wonderful prizes. If you sign up, your business will be one of those designated locations!

The North Carolina Department of Commerce’s Rural Planning Program is working with the Town of Hudson and a local work group to create a plan of work that will address economic recovery and resiliency built upon lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Rural Planning Program wants to determine how and to what extent the pandemic affected the local business community. Your perspective and advice will assist in the development of a plan to improve economic conditions for the future.
 
All answers will be anonymous and the questionnaire will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Please only complete the survey if you own or represent a business located in the Town of Hudson.

The Caldwell Arts Council announces its 35th Annual Sculpture Celebration in Lenoir, NC on
Saturday September 11, 2021 at the Broyhill Walking Park in Lenoir, North Carolina.
Sculptors are invited to enter up to 3 sculptures for this one-day event to compete for $11,000 in
cash awards, along with potential sales and commissions.
This annual family-friendly event attracts sculptors and buyers from the eastern United States to Lenoir, North Carolina and in past years, has attracted over 4,000 people. It is funded in part by generous sponsors and by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
