BAKER'S NEEDED FOR
FALL FESTIVAL CAKE WALK
We are still accepting donations of baked cakes, pies, etc. for our Cake Walk at this Saturday's Fall Festival. Baked goods will need to be delivered to the church Saturday morning between 9 - 10:00a.m.  Please make sure that you put your cake, pie or cookies/bars on something that does NOT need to be returned.

Let Sara Liebel know what you plan on bringing by emailing her at svhaddow@gmail.com.

Thanks for your help in making Saturday a fun event (with a good cause) for our church and community!

THIS SUNDAY
Easing of COVID Restrictions
As COVID levels decrease in our area we are going back to Phase Two of the COVID guidelines. At the Vestry meeting this week it was decided to suspend the requirement that masks be worn by all; rather mask are now suggested for those who may need them. And we will once again be able to offer the 8th Sacrament of the Episcopal Church—coffee! Can Cheetos be far behind?

Children's Church
Children's Church meets Sunday mornings at 10:30am! Prior to the start of church service parents will escort their children, grades Pre-K through 5th, downstairs where their hearts and minds will be filled with God's love! Children will then be escorted upstairs in time for communion.

Sunday Worship Resources
Join us for in-person worship this Sunday at 10:30am. The service will continue to be broadcast live on our Facebook page at 10:30am each Sunday morning.

STEWARDSHIP
Our stewardship campaign is in full swing. We are fast approaching Celebration Sunday, November 21, when we ask that all pledge cards for 2022 be returned. On that day we will have a luncheon for the whole church. Some households have already returned their pledges. So far we have 17 families making pledges for a total of $88,500. Please be in prayer how you may best support Holy Comforter. You can submit your pledge card through the mail or online by using the link below.

DO YOU USE OUR SQUARE READER AT CHURCH?
When giving an offering using the square reader please type in your name so that proper credit can be given. If you use touch free, like Apple Pay, or manually type in the card number - the reader does not automatically gather this information. There are prompts that will ask for your name.

If you have given in the last two weeks and did not type your name in the reader, please contact Lara Fort at finance@holycomforterchurch.org so she can update your record.

BISHOP'S VISITATION
The Rt. Rev. Frank Logue will make his first official visit to Holy Comforter as our new bishop of the Diocese of Georgia on All Saint’s Sunday, November 7. We will be offering the Sacraments of Confirmation and Baptism at that time. If you would like to be baptized, please contact Church Administrator Vivian Vaiden at 706-210-1133.

OPEN VESTRY POSITIONS
We have two vestry positions opening in January 2022. If you are interested in serving on our Vestry, please contact our administrator, Vivian Vaiden at vivian@holycomforterchurch.org. Vestry positions are open to confirmed members of the church. If you are unsure of your membership status, our administrator can help you with that as well.

MONDAY MEDITATIONS
AND PRAYERS
Holy Comforter is now open on Monday mornings from 9am -11am. This will be a time for parishioners to pray, meditate and have conversation with others. A peaceful and caring time for all. Hope you will stop by now and then. For more information contact Mary Kelly 206-859-8418.

COOPER'S CARDS
YOU DID IT!
We have enough Christmas cards so every inmate at Leath Correctional Facility for Women will receive at least one during the holiday season. Thank you to everyone who generously donated these beautiful cards. And thank you to those who have offered to help write a message inside each card. If you would like to help with this, contact Linda Bargeron at lhbargeron@gmail.com or 706-267-8668. More details will be coming soon about where and when the cards can be picked up to prepare them for delivery to the ladies at Leath.

THE BOOK CLUB
Our next Book Club meeting is Wednesday, November 10 at 10:00am at the church. Our book for November is We Gather Together by Denise Kiernan, a biography of gratitude. “The story of Sarah Josephine Hale, a widowed mother with no formal schooling who became one of the 19th century’s most influential tastemakers and who campaigned for decades to make real an annual day of thanks.”
For more information about The Book Club, contact Mary Kelly at marykelly919@comcast.net or 206-859-8418.

HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE
Holy Comforter will offer its second pilgrimage to the Holy Land next year, led by the rector, Cynthia Taylor along with The Rev. Donald Fishburne. May 11-20, 2022. This pilgrimage is not just for our church but for anyone who wants to experience the spiritual trip of a lifetime. We will prayerfully visit The Galilee, including Magdala, Nazareth, Jerusalem, Bethlehem and more. If you wish, you can take an optional extension to Petra and other sites. Pick up a brochure in the foyer. Sign up now as space is limited.
Preparing for Sunday is a tool to help us prepare for Sunday worship by engaging in the assigned lessons from Scripture.

It includes an overview, a lesson introduction, a reflection, and a prayer starter. It is available on our website here.
