Today we're celebrating library assistant Renie Lawrence for her 25 years of service to the Mercer Public Library!
Renie started working at the library in October of 1997, and she's been helping the community with everything from books to copies to faxes to figuring out the daily mysteries of life ever since. She's watched generations of Mercer's kids grow up, she's been a kind friend to people new to the community and those moving on to other places, and she's been an amazing library assistant. I couldn't wish for a better colleague or friend, and I'm so grateful that I've gotten to work with Renie for all of my years here.
If you love Renie like we do and you want to thank her for all she does, and if you happen to be in town and able to get away for a few minutes, please stop by the library TODAY, Monday, October 3, beginning at 10:00 am to share your good wishes and enjoy some cake in her honor.
I'm so sorry for the short notice, but if you know Renie you know that if she heard about this in advance, she would have run away to the shores of Lake Superior to avoid all the fuss. She might hate us for it later, but we're inviting everyone in town to stop by and wish her well. Hope we'll see you!
THANK YOU, RENIE!
