Donate Sneakers!

Look in your closet and garage, gather as many pairs of sneakers that you no longer want, then ask your neighbors, friends, co-workers, and anyone in your social networks to do the same. We can earn $0 to $7 per pair, depending on quality, and all money will go towards Mt. Tirzah Missions! AND we'll be keeping these shoes out of our landfill. Win-Win!

A drop-off box is located in the vestibule.

A couple of guidelines:

• No single shoes please; only pairs.
• MUST BE ATHLETIC SHOES (including hiking boots, running, basketball, cleats with rubber spikes, lifestyle and casual sneakers.)

Our annual stew sale was a great success! We raised $2750 for the American Cancer Society and our youth group! Thank you to all who worked and bought stew!

THURSDAY, APRIL 3, 7:00PM: SPRING CONCERT TO BENEFIT THE MOUNTAIN COMMUNITIES RECOVERING FROM HURRICANE HELENE

• At Roxboro Baptist Church
• Admission is free; donations accepted to benefit victims of the hurricane

SATURDAY, APRIL 12, 10AM: COMMUNITY EASTER EGG HUNT

• Easter Egg Hunt followed by a hot dog lunch
• At Rougemont UMC

SUNDAY, APRIL 13: PALM SUNDAY SERVICE with CANTATA BY ALLENSVILLE UMC followed by EASTER EGG HUNT FOR THE KIDS!

• 10:00am: Sunday School for kids and adults
• 11:00am: Worship special Cantata by Allensville UMC
• Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn right after worship! (Tentative)

THURSDAY, APRIL 17: MAUNDY THURSDAY SERVICE

SUNDAY, APRIL 20, 7am: EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE

• At Mt. Tirzah.
• The service will start at 7. Sunrise will be at 6:40, and you are welcome to come early to watch the beautiful scene over the cemetery.

SUNDAY, APRIL 20: EASTER CELEBRATION SERVICE

• (No Sunday School)
• 11:00am: Worship and Celebrate our Risen Lord!

TUESDAY, APRIL 22, 6:30-8:30PM CHURCH COUNCIL MEETING

• All are invited to attend, and committee members are encouraged to attend!
• Committee chairs make up the Church Council and should attend if at all possible. • Take your plastic wrap to Bethany for recycling into park benches!
• Green Star Recycling, located at 109 Oxford Rd. (Hwy 158), wants your metal! They are open Monday through Friday, 9-4, for drop-offs.
• The Scrap Exchange in Durham takes all kinds of things, including craft supplies, packing peanuts, and bubble wrap! Click HERE for more details!
• Recycle textiles! Old socks, shirts, anything that can't be donated that is made of textiles can be stuffed into a bag, purchased at this site, and recycled. Click HERE for details! (I vetted it. It is legit.)
• Recycle Christmas lights at Lowes!
