Featuring Will Curry, MD
This month we asked, Will Curry, MD, Chief Medical Officer of the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Massachusetts General Physicians' Organization, Adeline Rose Wydotis Professor of Neurosurgery, and 2006 PSDA award recipient, “What would it take to achieve equity and/or a truly equitable workforce at MGH?” Read this month’s Humans of CDI to hear his answer to this, and other hard-hitting questions that inform the work we do, both in and outside of the hospital.

A Message from Drs. Cesar Castro and Julie Price | |
As you may know, we are the CDI Faculty co-Directors for Research, and have been working closely with the CDI team to create a plan to promote our UiM MGH researcher workforce. Our hope is to expand investigative networks and catalyze the cross-pollination of ideas. Through enhanced, meaningful, and fruitful collaborations, we are poised to enact sustained change to address longstanding structural challenges facing UiM investigators.
Below are two opportunities to connect with us and each other:
-
Individual 1:1 consultations: We invite you to meet with either of us to discuss your research ambitions, lessons learned, and how we can leverage MGH’s collective resources to favorably shape your professional narratives. Please sign up through our individual Calendly sites (links below).
-
MGH President, MGPO President, and CDI Welcome and Recognition Celebration on Wednesday, October 19 from 6-8PM @ the Bulfinch Tent. We encourage you to attend this in-person event! If you have not done so already, please RSVP here. This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet us, each other, our vibrant community of UiM trainees and faculty, as well as hospital leadership.
We very much look forward to meeting and engaging with you very soon!

MGB Innovation: Barriers to Innovation Survey
Deadline - Oct 14
| |
The MGB Innovator Community Expansion Initiative seeks to increase and build a diverse and inclusive innovation community and ensure it represents our entire workforce. In September 2020, the MGB Innovation team sent a “Barriers to Innovation” survey to our entire community. At the two-year mark, we are re-administering the survey to collect updated information and check in on what may have changed.
The survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete on your computer or mobile device. It is confidential and responses will not tie to individual survey takers. The deadline for completing the survey is October 14th, 2022.
We will use the survey responses to inform our planning and program content. Through your participation, we strive to achieve a high response rate, providing us with crucial results to support this critical ongoing work.
