Electronic Delivery of Medicaid/HUSKY - Re-Enrollment and Other Time Sensitive Communications.
With the COVID pandemic starting in early 2020, some physicians may have missed the two bulletins from the CT Department of Social Services concerning the electronic delivery of the re-enrollment and other communication updates from Medicaid/HUSKY. As such, DSS is moving AWAY from mailing written letters and other time sensitive notifications such as re-enrollment, third party liability (TPL) and prior-authorization.
The HUSKY billing portal message center/ master clerk email are now the pathways for these DSS communications.

AMA Announces New CPT Code for Pediatric COVID-19 Vaccine Doses
The American Medical Association (AMA) is anticipating the approval of Pfizer’s emergency use authorization (EUA) request for administering its COVID-19 vaccine to children 5–11 years old. The AMA has announced updates to Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code sets to include pediatric doses of the vaccine, in order to give healthcare providers time to update their electronic systems for the inoculation of these younger patients. These provisional codes will be effective as soon as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issues its EUA order for pediatric vaccination for COVID-19. The FDA is scheduled to review the EUA application for pediatric doses of the vaccine later this month.
