13th Annual Lighthouse Music Fest

The Huntington Lighthouse Music Fest was once again a huge success, raising $43,000 which will go towards the continued restoration of keeping our 110 year old Lighthouse beautiful.

The community came out in great support with an estimated 1,700 boats, kayaks, paddleboards and rafts to listen to the talented musicians who put on quite a show!

Our very own Road Commissioner, Mark Dara on bass, headlined with the Soghats band.  Mark and his bandmates, Kevin Campion - Lead Singer, Bobby Sogs - Acoustic Guitar, Jeff D'Amoto - Lead Guitar, and Vinny Oppido - Drums, closed out the show with an incredible classic rock performance. Mark has been playing in bands for over 50 years and said "This was the most surreal gig I have ever played in my life."  They were honored to be asked to play.

Thanks to Mark, the Soghats, and all the bands throughout the day for the remarkable entertainment! And special thanks to Pam Setchell and the rest of the volunteers at the Lighthouse Preservation Society for putting together such a memorable community event!

Meetings

All our Board of Trustee and Zoning Board meetings are open to our residents.  Agendas are published prior to the meeting. During the Trustee Meeting there is a "Public Portion" on the agenda during which comments or suggestions to the Board can be made.

Board of Trustee meetings are typically held the 2nd Monday of each month and Zoning Board meetings the 3rd Thursday. Dates are on our website.

The Town of Huntington's meeting are open to the public as well. Meeting dates and times are listed on their website. The agenda is usually set the week before. Decisions made by the Town Board have tremendous impact on our Village residents, the value of our homes and our quality of life.  We encourage residents to be more active in those meetings, and also in Town elections.  While voters complain, turnout in town elections is sadly low.

Fall clean-ups will soon be underway. Please be mindful of the landscaping hours.

This is strictly enforced by our Police.

Check Fraud is on the Rise

Check fraud can happen to anyone. Stolen checks may be altered with the use of chemicals or other methods to change the dollar amount, payee name or other important factors. And, it can sometimes take weeks for you to realize it was never cashed or received by the person it was meant for. Here are some easy ways to protect yourself.

Use digital tools

  • Use other options for making your payments such as online bill pay, ACH transfers, Zelle® or wires.
  • Turn on transaction alerts to keep track of the money that is coming out of your account.
  • Review your account statements or online activity regularly, and notify your bank if you spot any suspicious activity.

Be secure

  • Always treat your checkbooks like cash and store them in a safe place.
  • Mail checks from a secured mailbox or directly at the post office.

ALSO, DON'T FORGET TO LOCK YOUR CAR DOORS!
