A message from Governor Liz Glowka:

Happy April!

It’s springtime and all around us Soroptimist events are blooming. There are fundraising events, service projects, and so much more. Also blooming is the 2025 Spring Conference, Leadership Training, and Fall Meetings. Everyone is hard at work to provide you with Up-to-Date SIA, GWR, and club updates. Please plan some road trips and join in the fun and education.

Live Your Dream events are also blooming. Please support our LYD club celebrations. This is what we do! And don’t forget about our previous awardees. They need our continued emotional and financial support. Don’t disappear on them. It is a rewarding follow up that encourages us to continue towards enabling even more women. Remember our Big Goal of investing in the dreams of half a million women and girls through access to education.

The 2024-2026 Region Roadmap and Roadmap Metrics are guides to help you as a club and us as a region achieve our Federation goals You can find them both on the Golden West Region website. Please review and discuss them as a club and help us maintain and surpass our GWR greatness!

The events planned for the 2025 Spring Conference are awesome. We have started a new Sponsorship opportunity for you, your clubs, friends, businesses and organizations. The response to the program is gaining strength and the reactions are positive. Please see the Sponsorship flyer in the Call to Conference, access the link/QR code and discover how you can be a part of distributing information about this for advertising their organizations and their support of Soroptimist International – Golden West Region. It is great to see the support of our members distributing and speaking to their circle of friends and contacts. Please help us succeed. The deadline for submissions is May 14, 2025. Jump on the bus and help our Spring Conference be the best it can be.

April’s UpliftHER Focus is on Single Parenting.

This is an obstacle that women and girls face on their path to formal education and economic empowerment. SIA headquarters will share suggested projects related to that obstacle that count towards our Big Goal, of helping make the dreams of half a million more women and girls come true by 2031.

Clubs canparticipate in the quarterly project focus by sharing SIA posts and posting their own projects with the hashtag #SoroptimistsUpliftHER.
