Couchiching,

As a recent university graduate with a passion for conservation, the opportunity to be part of a charitable land trust who is consistently taking strides towards habitat protection has been the experience of a lifetime.

Over the summer, my role as a biological technician has involved a wide range of duties, from inputting important data collected by our volunteer community scientists, to controlling invasive species in sensitive habitats - like dog-strangling vine!

You can find me on the many trails I help maintain, or in the field assisting with community science programs. If you spot me, feel free to stop and say hello!

Remember, leave no trace, and happy hiking.

The protection of the Nicholson NR and Marley Family NR was made possible by donors to the Corridors Campaign. We have a goal to protect high-priority wilderness in the Black River Wildlands and Carden Alvar Corridors and since late 2019, we have protected over 1900 acres together! Pledges and gifts to this campaign help sustain our efforts.

Rosebush Landing

The dream of a canoe & kayak launch at Ron Reid Nature Reserve is now a reality.

Thanks to the volunteers and staff who made this launch a reality, especially John Walinck who built the deck and ladder in his shop and transported them to the site, and Brandon Guoth who coordinated the project.
