Message from the CEO: As the peak body representing the digital health workforce we were delighted to launch the InGeNA Precision Medicine Workforce Competency Framework last week. The Framework aims to elevate the capabilities of the various workforces servicing the Australian genomics sector and to address workforce competency gaps in precision medicine. Our congratulations to the steering committee for developing such an important document that will help to support strategic and business planning and support individual workforce members.

The importance of patient safety is highlighted in a new study the Institute is working on with The Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College in London. The starting point for the study is an invitation to CHIA alumni to give their insights into your experiences of digital health safety practices. I hope you will take the time to share your knowledge for this important work.

There’s just under three weeks until the next Digital Health Institute Summit, this time we will be seeing you all in Brisbane. New speakers are being added to the program regularly so I encourage you to take another look at the program and plan to join us to celebrate with the Queensland digital health community. There will be a special session on the second day to acknowledge the achievements of the Queensland CHIA alumni. It will be great to celebrate with them and to find out more about how becoming a CHIA has informed their career and work. I look forward to seeing you all and welcoming you to the Brisbane Summit.

Workshop for executives
Join the Digital Health Executive Network as we dissect and reimagine the role of clinicians, consumers, and technology in the health service transformation.

This workshop will include showcase presentations of the models of care used by Queensland Health during the pandemic, discuss the norms and storms of those models. We will then vision what these models could look like to transform the health service outside of a pandemic response, including what this will mean for you as a digital health executive, the challenges you will face, the practical help needed, the knowledge gaps and skills shortages.

This workshop is invite-only. To register your interest to attend please email kristal@digitalhealth.org.au.
Health informatics short course

Students will also learn how to make operational and strategic management decisions in relation to health informatics.

Patient safety matters: Digital health safety practice study
AIDH and The Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London UK would like to invite you to take part in a study, which seeks to identify factors that support the adoption of safety practices for digital health implementations. To help us understand your experience of digital health safety practices please take this short survey.

In addition, we are seeking CHIA Alumni to take part in a 30-minute interview to gather further insights into the adoption of e-health safety guidelines. A focus group, including CHIA Alumni and AIDH Fellows and Associate Fellows will also be conducted to discuss the study’s early findings with members influencing the maturity of digital health safety practice.
