It’s World Communion Sunday! Our scripture passages are Lamentations 3:19-26 (God’s love and faithfulness never ends) and Luke 17:5-10 (Jesus talks about mighty faith the size of a mustard seed). Our sermon is entitled ‘Fools or Planting Trees in Oceans’. Our songs include: You Are Welcome Here; We Are One; Blest Be the Tie that Binds; Weave; All Who Hunger; Sanctus; and In Christ there is No East or West.

Our guest worship leader is Nichole Torbitzky while Kevin is attending Family Weekend at Bellarmine University in Louisville where Iris is a sophomore studying Health Humanities: Health, Culture and Compassion ... with a concentration in Health Disparities and Health Equity.

Rev. Dr. Nichole Torbitzky is Associate Professor of Philosophy and Religion and University Chaplain at Lindenwood University. Dr. Torbitzky was ordained at St. John UCC, Manchester and has served congregations in Pennsylvania, California, and most recently, De Soto, MO before accepting a call as Chaplain to Lindenwood. Her grandfather, the Rev. Martin Torbitzky and her great-great grandfather, Rev. J.M. Torbitzky served churches in St. Louis and Illinois dating back to the 1800s. She is so grateful to have the opportunity to follow in their footsteps. Rev. Dr. Torbitzky lives in St. Charles with her husband, two daughters, two sons, and one cat, Tito, who runs the household.  

St Louis County is now at CDC Medium risk meaning masking is recommended for those who have tested positive or are in high-risk populations. Therefore, we have adjusted our recommendations.

Please participate in worship virtually via our livestream on Facebook if you have tested positive for Covid in the last 5 days.

Masks should be worn and respected for in-person worship under the following conditions:

1) You have tested positive for COVID 6-10 days ago and you still have symptoms;

2) You are in a high-risk group and/or have underlying conditions;

3) You are more comfortable wearing a mask.

In order to protect individuals and the wider community, we strongly encourage up-to-date vaccinations and boosters against all communicable diseases.

Seasons of the Spirit curriculum follows the revised common lectionary with age appropriate activities and projects.
