Dear First Congregational Church,
A big reveal is coming! And we want you to be there to see it – Sunday, January 26, following morning worship.
In October 2022, our congregation adopted Faith in Action, our strategic plan outlining priorities for social justice, faith formation, congregational care, and communications. Teams were formed to carry out each goal. The Communications Team – Pam Archer, Karen Cumbo, Stewart Hoover, Jenny Thayer, Chris Shearer Cooper, Keith Lance, and I – began by surveying our current communications needs, and heard the congregation’s concern regarding the effectiveness of our current website.
The creation of a new website became our first big task. After an extensive search, we enlisted Theory One, a website developer with extensive experience partnering with non-profits as well as several other UCC congregations. They worked with us to create a new website that more fully expresses the vibrancy and many facets of our life together, extends our warm welcome to newcomers, and will more effectively keep us connected to one another.
Now, after months of exciting work, our new website is ready to launch! I am thrilled to announce its unveiling on Sunday, January 26 in the Sanctuary immediately following the 10:30 a.m. service. After the postlude, we’ll take a coffee break in the Link and return to the Sanctuary where a big screen will be set up for a Celebratory Show and Tell. Come, see all the new pages and features of our site, including the Member Dashboard, where you’ll be able to easily find and access a variety of resources, from archives of sermons, devotionals, and weekly emails to your Realm login and the Sign-Up Genius for every volunteer activity.
Our time together on January 26 will also give us an opportunity to thank the Communications Team, especially Pam Archer, our chair, who has dedicated countless hours for months now, meeting weekly with our project manager at Theory One as well as with our Communications Team, and attending to more details than any of us ever imagined.
If you are not able attend the show and tell this Sunday, we’ll repeat it on Sunday, February 2, at 9:15 a.m. in Plymouth Hall and at 3 p.m. at Frasier Retirement Community, 350 Ponca Place, Boulder. Come to whichever event works best for you.
Join us as we celebrate the unveiling of our beautiful new front door, the website of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Boulder.
With gratitude and joy,
