30th Anniversary Celebration

Rebuilding Together Richmond (RT RVA) celebrated 30 years of service and toasted to 30 more last Tuesday at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery.

Volunteers, board members, homeowners, donors, and staff - past and present - came together to reflect and commemorate RT RVA's impact in the community since it was founded in 1992 as Christmas In April.

Ms. Mary, one of our program recipients, shared her story with other ReBuilders at the event. She mentioned that she was fortunate that her old furnace lasted for thirty years but that "when it went, it went!"

Ms. Laverne, another recipient, stated that she "felt like it was just a blessing pouring in" after contractors repaired her dilapidated bathroom floor.

Both homeowners were very grateful for the help as these costly repairs were out of their reach.

The evening concluded with a raffle and silent auction that generated more than $2,000 toward our $30,000 For 30 Years Giving Campaign!

You can help us meet that goal before December 31st by donating today!

Fall Fix-Up Day Projects in Full Swing!

Teams from Evonik, CoStar Group, and Crater Chapter Warrant Officers Association provided much-needed improvements to three homes in Ettrick and Petersburg this month.

Volunteers painted the interiors of homes, built new shed doors, cleared out dumpsters' worth of debris, installed flooring, landscaped, and made many other improvements to increase home health and safety for families.

In addition, volunteers from People's Advantage Credit Union and Seven Street Christian Church pruned bushes, painted benches and picnic tables, and beautified McKenzie Street Park and Ettrick United Methodist Church.

One homeowner, Ms. Pam, was previously served through our Critical Home Repair Program and received a new roof, wheelchair ramp, and carport. Volunteers from CoStar group mowed her yard, painted the carport, planted flowers, and even built a new dog house!

Next week, Mount Vernon Baptist Church volunteers will complete repairs for another Ettrick family. Our AdvanSix team will assist a family in Hopewell with significant home improvements the following week.

Thanks to all of our volunteers and supporters who make Fall Fix-Up possible!

TruTeam/TopBuild Provides Southside Richmond Homeowner With Energy Efficiency Upgrades

Earlier this month, TruTeam/TopBuild, a national leader in industrial insulation and building materials, partnered with RT RVA to provide Ms. Carolyn with energy efficiency improvements.

The crew spent the entire day insulating, enhancing safety, and sealing her home. In addition, they invested $6,000 toward critical home repairs needed to keep her warm, safe, and dry in her home.
