Dear Conservation Hero,
“What if today, we were just grateful for everything?” -Charlie Brown

At this time of Thanks Giving, I hope that you truly know how grateful all of us here at ESLT are, because of you. You shower us with gifts of kindness, support, and donations, and we don’t take it lightly.

We know that you have many choices in how, and who, to share your gifts with, and it means so much to know that you believe in the work that we are collectively doing to protect this amazing and vibrant place.

Whether you are with family or friends eating a traditional meal, or preparing s’mores over a campfire, or walking into the quiet of nature, I hope that in this time of Thanks that you are surrounded with kindness and support.

I wish that I could find another way to say “Thank You”, but until I do.. please accept my deep gratitude.
With sincere thankfulness,

Kay Ogden

Celebrate ESLT's 21st anniversary with us! Mark your calendars for a fun afternoon in Bridgeport Valley at Bridgeport Barns & Terraces. We look forward to gathering safely in person outdoors overlooking the beautiful landscapes you've protected.
Welcome Claire, ESLT's 2022 Education Coordinator and AmeriCorp Member!
Join us in welcoming Claire to our ESLT team as Education Coordinator and AmeriCorps Member for 2021/2022! Claire grew up near Chicago and graduated from the University of Washington Seattle campus. Since graduating, she worked as a field technician for a variety of organizations and universities studying animals including Greater Sage-grouse and Black Bears along with their habitats. She found her way to the Eastern Sierra as a snowboarder and rock climber in 2019 and fell in love with the region. She is thrilled for this opportunity to serve the community and foster an appreciation for the outdoors through the powerful tool of education.

New Fencing at Black Lake Preserve
The historic fencing at Black Lake Preserve had exceeded its lifespan, and work is underway to install new wildlife friendly fencing that allows access with pedestrian friendly pass-throughs. The fence is important to protect the rich diversity of plant and animal life found there. Watch for this ongoing improvement on your next visit to this seasonal lake.

This Wetland Reserve Easement restoration project is funded by the NRCS Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP).

Join our Team!
Join Eastern Sierra Land Trust’s team in beautiful Bishop, CA, and you’ll be working each day to protect the land, water, and wildlife that make this region so special! Do you know someone who'd like to be part of our team? Please share this opportunity.

Mule Deer on the Move

It's that time of year when mule deer migrate from their summer ranges up in the High Sierra down to the valley floor. Please keep an extra eye out as you travel on the roads and highways especially at dawn and dusk.

Thank you for being a part of the ESLT family. With our caring landowners, volunteers, members, and supporters, we're protecting a bright future for the Eastern Sierra.

Sincerely,
Kay, Amanda, Carissa, Claire, Heather, Sara, Sus, Tina, and our Board of Directors
