A message from Jim Gilligan, Stewardship Chair:
This Sunday we celebrate one of my favorite days of the church year - All Saints' Day. The hymns we traditionally sing on All Saints' makes me really appreciate what each of us brings to the church and to the greater kingdom of God.
Another reason is the solemn remembrance of all our friends and loved ones who have already passed into God's loving hands as we continue to dwell on earth and ponder the mystery that awaits us when its time for our own heavenly journey.
Read the words of Hymn 293, which we'll sing this Sunday:
I sing a song of the saints of God, patient and brave and true,
who toiled and fought and lived and died for the Lord they loved and knew.
They lived not only in ages past; there are hundreds of thousands still;
the world is bright with the joyous saints who love to do Jesus’ will.
You can meet them in school, or in lanes, or at sea, in church, or in trains, or in shops, or at tea;
for the saints of God are just folk like me, and I mean to be one too.
We dear friends and members of Resurrection, are the saints of God!
Won't you please give extra prayerful thought to your pledge for 2023? We need your help to grow our Church, to reach the unchurched and welcome them into our fold, and to find a new Rector to lead and guide us in the years ahead. How will you respond to God's call to be a saint?
Please bring your pledge card to church and place it in the offering plate this All Saints' Sunday or pledge on-line to support Resurrection's ministries in 2023.
