Feature of the Month: Air-Knife Needle Cleaning System

MRSI recently introduced the air-knife vacuum system for cleaning epoxy dispense needles and it is now a standard feature on all MRSI dispense systems. The accessory automatically cleans needles of built up epoxy during a production program. The system lowers the needle through a hole into a stream of high pressure air from the air knife. The air forces excess epoxy from the needle. A vacuum system pulls debris away through a mesh to ensure the needle is thoroughly cleaned. This maintenance free process replaced a mechanical sponge system. The sponges in that system could be used for a limited time until they were contaminated. The air-knife system is available as an upgrade for any MRSI machine with the legacy sponge system.

Training Programs

Based at our Massachusetts, US headquarters, MRSI offers a comprehensive set of training programs covering our family of products. Led by experienced engineers, the programs are tailored to suit each customer’s needs, including concepts of robot orientation, teaching alignments, the die bonding process and production set up. The sessions are run over a 3-to-5-day period depending on the specific program.
