Parents and Guardians:

In an effort to continue our connection and partnership in supporting ALL Hawks, I will be hosting a parent informational meeting on Wednesday, February 15th from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

The focus of this meeting will be on current trends in substance abuse and prevention. I have invited members of Omni Youth Services to present information you may find helpful in being an informed parent and/or for navigating conversations with your student on these topics. Specific observed trends to be covered include e-cigarettes or vaping, stimulants and counterfeit pills…to name a few.

*E-cigarettes or vaping devices are battery-operated devices that people use to inhale an aerosol, which typically contains nicotine (though not always), flavorings, and other chemicals.

**Stimulants are a class of drugs that speed up messages traveling between the brain and body.

***Counterfeit pills are fake medications that have different ingredients than the actual medication. They may contain no active ingredient, the wrong active ingredient, or have the right ingredient but in an incorrect quantity.

It is my sincere hope that you will be able to join us for this important informational meeting.

2023 College Scholarship

Is your son or daughter a senior who will be continuing their education as a full-time student in the 2023-2024 school year at an accredited two or four-year college, university, or certified trade school? 

Hawk Boosters is offering eight $1,000 scholarships to seniors. 

The scholarship is based on academic achievements, a written essay, and extra-curricular activities both in and outside of school. 

Students may pick up an application at the College/Career Resource Center (CRC), or by accessing the school webpage at https://tinyurl.com/help-scholarship.  All applications are due Friday, April 7, 2023 by 3 p.m. to the College/Career Resource Center (CRC). 

There are no exceptions! 

Winners will be announced at the Honors Convocation in May.

Volunteer Opportunities

We need volunteers for events throughout the school year, including Hospitality, Trivia Night, School Store, & more. We know your time is limited, however, even giving one hour will help tremendously.

Educators Rising will be collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald house at the end of February. The students are making the collection jars and we will disperse them next month.
