A message from our Missions Pastor

Hey Legacy Family,

I pray this newsletter finds you well! I am writing to you from Tepic, Mexico, touring the different ministries they have here, and also discovering what a short-term mission trip would look like for us. This truly is a great mission opportunity for us as a church family. I cannot wait for those who will be called to take a trip here. I have been able to meet a lot of the pastors who have been developed and sent out to different areas and towns nearby Tepic to lead what they call "Mission Churches". They have ongoing evangelistic programs for the community, finding creative ways to minister to people, even with all the covid protocols in place here in Mexico. I visited the recently finished orphanage, which we assisted with as a church family. I was also able to preach at one of the mission churches on behalf of Legacy Church. They are incredibly grateful for the assistance and help we sent. Once again Legacy Church, thank you, for your faithful giving to the general fund which makes a lot of what I’m currently seeing possible.

I am excited for Legacy as this will be a month of ministry. Bible studies have started up, ESL is in session, a New Believers Class is happening, and a missional Personal Evangelism Class starts October 17th. If you have the heart to reach your neighbors, friends, co-workers, and family, but have been intimidated or feel uncomfortable, please sign up for this class to learn tools, tips, and teaching on what it means to personally evangelize in our modern world. This class is open for anyone with a missional heart who wants to reach the world, starting by reaching out to those next to us. My prayer is that we engage and not miss out on the opportunities in front of us.

Don’t forget October 24th will be Legacy Church’s Trunk or Treat which is a way for us to connect with the community around us. As we plan, pray that we as a church will be able to minister the gospel through the love we have for our community. Pray that we make an impact on families who need to come to see the love of Christ. Pray for how the Lord can use you through this outreach event.

We have a great opportunity this month to lean in on what the Lord is calling us to do here at Legacy. My personal prayer as the Missions Pastor is that even in the midst of our uncertain time with covid, that we find creative ways to minister to the broken world. I pray the Holy Spirit gives us the endurance Paul had in 2 Corinthians 6: 1-10 to continue to fulfill His mission, keeping us from getting tired, discouraged, quitting, and so forth. I pray we find continued strength and awareness within the Lord who gives us strength. In the name of Jesus, AMEN!

This will be an exciting month so let's all lean in. and if you are socially distancing, lean in with your prayers and the creative ways the Lord is leading you.

Blessings,
Patrick Iga

Impact Opportunity
Jacob Pierce is working with Pastor Patrick on a College Outreach at UTD for Tuesday, October 19th. UTD will be serving a pizza box meal to international students. As students go through the food line, they will connect a volunteer lunch host to a couple of students to enjoy lunch together.

We have the opportunity to serve as lunch hosts and share the gospel with the students. We need volunteers to sit with the students and engage them in gospel conversations! If interested, please contact Susan or Pastor Patrick.
