Happy Pride Month! It’s June, and just like that, the year is halfway over. I want to start by thanking everyone who participated in our 19th Annual WTS Golf Tournament. It was hot (like, really, really hot), but it was so good to see you all. Even though I didn’t win the year of free tacos again, I still had a great time, and I hope you did too. I’d like to especially thank our co-chairs, Sherry Williams and Christie Gotti, for doing an amazing job, weather aside! Now it’s time to start planning our next big event, the WTS Annual Awards and Scholarship Banquet, so be sure to mark your calendar for October 1, 2021, which will be here before you know it!
Speaking of upcoming events, we have some really special ones coming up in this summer. On July 15th, we’ll be continuing our “Conversations” series with an all-star lineup of fantastic women to discuss their experiences as Asian American/Pacific Islander women in transportation. On August 17th, we will be returning to in-person events (cue excited squealing) as we host the new DART President & Chief Executive Officer Nadine Lee for a very special MEMBERS ONLY welcome reception! We are so fortunate to have such a strong supporter of WTS leading DART! Again, this event will be limited to WTS Members only, so make sure your membership is up to date. More details will be forthcoming soon.
Finally, as we transition back into "real life," we’re going to need volunteers. If you’re interested in becoming more involved with WTS, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We have a wide variety of committees and can definitely find something that aligns with your interests and skills.
