ROSS COLEMAN SCOPE Board Member
|
|
|
Ross Coleman approaches everything he does with intention, creativity, and thoughtfulness. Paired with his light-hearted spirit, Ross has played an instrumental role as a longtime, dedicated SCOPE supporter. For almost 20 years Ross has served as a member of the SCOPE Board of Directors -- demonstrating his commitment to our mission by giving his time, bringing new ideas to fruition, and engaging others in meaningful ways. His outgoing personality and humor as well as his campy lightheartedness have been showcased at past SCOPE Benefits through his rallying of the room to Sponsor a Camper, an important ask at this annual fundraiser.
As the owner/director of Coleman Country Day Camp, Ross and his family empower their camp community to fulfill the camp’s motto to “dream big” when giving the gift of camp through SCOPE. In 2016, Coleman Country participated in a week-long coin drive to demonstrate what it means for campers to have “habits of the heart” as well as to have gratitude for the camp experience they are fortunate to enjoy. This past summer, camp families and staff showed their ability to get creative philanthropically with the Coleman Country TikTok dance challenge to “We are Family” –- everyone had a blast! Kudos to Ross for doing his part to carry on his family’s legacy in camp while highlighting the importance of giving back. We're grateful for our partnership with Ross and his family!

AMANDA KRASNOFF
SCOPE Associate Board Member
|
Amanda Krasnoff’s role as the Engagement Chair of the SCOPE Associate Board gives her the opportunity to meet and connect with with camp-passionate young professionals who are involved (or want to get more involved) with SCOPE. She’s a strong communicator and knows the value and benefits of teamwork. Earlier this year Amanda worked closely with the SCOPE team and Dori Alper (Engagement Co-Chair) to relaunch a SCOPE webpage geared towards her peers, highlighting Associate Board members and past initiatives. Amanda also created a directory for these young philanthropists to be active and engaged.
In 2016, as a Camp Taconic staff member, Amanda wanted to create a gives back event at camp that would empower their teen Leaders in Training (LITs). With encouragement from Taconic leadership and in partnership with Dana Laxer, the Strides4SCOPE Taconic Walk-a-thon was born and since then this camp-wide gives back initiative has now become a lasting Taconic tradition. During the virtual summer of 2020, Amanda helped continue the tradition by teaming up to create the virtual Taconic Triathlon! Amanda and the rest of the Associate Board are gearing up for GivingTuesday on Tuesday, November 30.
Lastly, Mazel Tov to Amanda, her husband Alex, and their 3 year old son Aidan on their newest family addition, baby Liam, (a future SCOPE supporter)!

YMCA Camp Chingachgook is a safe, inclusive community where people of all ages are inspired to be better stewards of the world through the thoughtful facilitation of high quality, engaging experiences.
In partnership with SCOPE, YMCA Camp Chingachgook helps to empower local children from their surrounding communities to gain access to positive, life-changing opportunities by attending camp too!
Chingachgook works to create an environment for campers to feel confident, be independent and resilient, and one where children understand that their community is better together.
“My son was made to feel valued and an important part of the group. He was involved in activities that were engaging, new and exciting where he could gain confidence. He was able to learn the process of peer discussion and shared decision making.”

YMCA Camp Cullen, Texas
SCOPE Southwest
|
At YMCA Camp Cullen, their goal is to provide a summer camp experience rich in tradition centered on core values of respect, responsibility, honesty, caring and faith, while allowing campers to gain independence, a higher self-worth and lifelong, positive memories as they continue to grow as individuals and leaders.
YMCA Camp Cullen campers learn new skills, develop their character, and make forever friends. The camp's legacy extends well beyond a summer at Lake Livingston. The values and lessons learned at camp help each child grow in spirit, mind and body, and contribute to the building of memories that last a lifetime.
