November 12, 2021
Hello PH Community,

"World Kindness Day is a global day that promotes the importance of being kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world. The purpose of this day, celebrated on November 13 of each year, is to help everyone understand that compassion for others is what binds us all together. This understanding has the power to bridge the gap between nations."

Moving closer to the holiday season, let's start early with giving kindness. Coming close to two years of living with COVID has caused a lot of isolation and stress on all of us, let's remember that being kind can help relieve that stress and is pretty easy to do.

Ideas and Simple Ways to be Kind
  • Smile when you walk by others.
  • Write positive messages on post-it notes and leave them for people to find.
  • Call a relative you haven't spoken to in a while.
  • Tidy up around your house.
  • Pick up trash you see on the ground outside and throw it in a garbage can.
  • Hold the door open for someone.

Thank you so much for your support of the PH direct fundraiser. We met and exceeded our goal and couldn't have done it without you. Our students will benefit greatly from your contributions. Please take a moment to watch the thank you video posted below.

Family Connect
Family Connections are a priority in our community. We hold the belief that these connections give us opportunities to further build relationships, share information about your learner, share evidence of their thinking and creativity, and partner with you for your child's success. Thank you for taking the time to make a connection with your child's teacher.
Peter Hobart Direct
Peter Hobart Direct is our only student-led fundraiser of the year. It is a direct giving campaign. Instead of selling items, we ask families, friends, and neighbors to donate. 100% of the proceeds to directly to students and classrooms.

We reached our goal for dollars raised and student body participation! We were pleased to raise enough money to give money to each grade-level and specialist's classroom, and also give our mini-grants. Thank you to all who donated.

This year our goal was $15,000
We ended up with $22,055 !!

Please view this video that shows our appreciation!

Native American Heritage Month

November is Native American Heritage Month, or as it is commonly referred to, American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month. The month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people.ande

At Peter Hobart we are paying tribute to the rich ancestry and traditions of Native Americans by highlighting important facts regarding Native American history as well as acknowledging influential Native Americans and their achievements. Thank you to Ms. Robinson for creating this learning wall.

For many Native American people, history is important because it establishes our sense of identity and belonging. Native American Culture teaches us we all understand who we are and how we came to be because of the stories transmitted by our elders.

This week we were pleased to partake in these traditions through the performance of Laughing Fox who used captivating stories and music to paint the picture of the importance of and beauty of Native American traditions.
