Pacific Masters Long Course Championship Results

Marin Aquatic Masters hosted the Pacific Masters Long Course Championship this past weekend at Indian Valley College's beautiful Miwok Aquatic Center, and it was a fabulous event! With warm weather and fast swims galore, the results are in! In summary, 13 individuals and one relay set new Pacific Records. Richard Burns, Suzanne Heim-Bowen, and Joel Wilson each turned in World Record swims. A special shoutout to the Mens 80-84 relay from TAM, who broke FIVE world records! Gives new meaning to the phrase, 'there's something in the water." Congrats to all!!
Pacific Try Masters Swimming - Tell your Friends!
July 1 - August 31
Get a Banner for your Club!!

The USMS Try Masters Swimming Month ended. But, here in Pacific Masters, you can still givve Masters Swimming a try until the end of August!

The majority of new members say that word-of-mouth, and seeing information about adult swimming at their pool was the main way they discovered Masters Swimming.

Our Marketing and Membership Committee has designed a beautiful banner (pictured above) that can be proudly displayed at your aquatic facility. There is no better way to announce that "adult swimming happens here" than by hanging one of these eye-catching banners at your pool, available at no cost to all of our clubs. Inquire about receiving your club's banner with an email to Michael Moore.

As an added incentive, Pacific Masters clubs with 29 members or more with the highest participation will be eligible to win some big cash. Help get the word out with these Try Masters Swimming opportunities.

Attitude Is Everything!

On a recent road trip, I listened to Dr. Sanjay Gupta's Chasing Life podcast and an episode called "Making the Most of the Bodies We Have." My swimming ears perked up when he introduced his guest, former long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad. Diana swam from Havana to Key West almost ten years ago, when she was 64. She successfully completed the swim after previously attempting it a handful of times. I loved her never-give-up attitude and dedication to working out, no matter what. Give it a listen and be inspired!
