That’s precisely what Kozetta Pool, owner of Your Turn Special Events LLC, recommends you do when planning a party. Emphasis on the “Keep Calm”, Kozetta, also known as Kozy, wants you to feel relaxed during the big moments of your life and let her do all the work. "We take the stress out of planning and decorating, giving clients more time to relax on their big day and not sweat the small stuff" said Kozy. She is a certified Event & Wedding Planner offering her many years of experience, dedicated to making your event seamless and enjoyable from start to finish, and now has expanded services in a new location.

Now located at 540 Buchanan St., Suite 3C in Sandusky, Kozy debuted Your Turn Special Events LLC at the Grand Opening on September 25th of this year. She signed a 2-year lease with Jim and Lori Rumbarger, owners of the building. “They believed in my vision” Kozy said. They remodeled the entire suite after hearing her plans to make it place where people can celebrate their special life events. Kozy’s newly remodeled space holds up to 40 people and is the perfect place for intimate gatherings from private dinner parties, anniversary, retirement parties, baby or bridal showers or birthday parties for all ages and more.

There’s something for everyone, including kids. Kozy has a space dedicated to kids called the “soft play children zone” for children ages 1-5 years old, perfect for kid parties and always a hit! Since the grand opening in September, Kozy has hosted a Paint & Sip 30th birthday party, a children's fall harvest party, and later this month will host a new book signing launch for Yolanda Churchwell. Your Turn Special Events offers packages that suit each individual client's needs.

Kozy's passion for serving others doesn't stop at event planning, she also has a love for cooking. Her and her daughter, Tierra Pool, are ServSafe Manager Certified under the Erie County Health Department and enjoy cooking up lots of delicious foods for their friends, family, and clients to enjoy. "I love when people say, 'Mmm that's good, Kozy!'" Or when they see her around and ask what she's cooking next. "I love to cook. I cook with love."

Since she was 12 years old, Kozy dreamed of being an event planner. Growing up in and graduating from Norwalk, Kozy moved to Sandusky in 1991. She was taught to love thy neighbor. On and off for the past 10 years, she felt compelled to feed those in the community who didn't have family or transportation to enjoy a Christmas meal. Her and her team cooked meals at the CAC building on Depot St. and Ebenezer Church and delivered the meals to those in need.

As her business grows, she will continue to give back to the community that's given her so much. Her ultimate goal is to offer a one-stop-shop where she can plan and hold large weddings and events and offer her catering to her clients. She plans to add 2 more people to her team to help her and her daughter keep up with the growing business.
