Transportation

During the 2023-24 school year we will continue to use our 14 passenger bus to provide one trip each day to/from Riverwalk's main campus to York Technical College each day (and back).

The bus only holds 14 students, which means that for 14 of our students, we can assist in the transportation to/from Riverwalk and York Tech each day.

  • The intent is not to provide this service to 100% of our families but only to those who have a hardship of transporting students to Riverwalk Academy and York Tech each day. Please take a moment to complete this short survey indicating if you will need transportation to and/or from the York Tech Campus.

Attention 10th - 11th Grade Students

Physicals

It's that time of year where you need to start thinking about getting your sports physicals for next school year. Sports physicals for the 23-24 year must be dated after April 1, 2023. Athletic physicals, as well as other necessary document, must be uploaded into planetHS before students are allowed to participate in athletics.

Before getting your physical you want to make sure you are academically eligible to participate.

Here are the academic eligibility requirements from the SCHSL:

To participate in interscholastic activities, students in grades nine through twelve must achieve an overall passing average and either:

  • Pass at least four academic courses, including each unit the student takes that is required for graduation.

or

  • Pass a total of five academic courses.

Students must satisfy these conditions in the semester preceding participation in the interscholastic activity, if the interscholastic activity occurs completely within one semester or in the semester preceding the first semester of participation in an interscholastic activity if the interscholastic activity occurs over two consecutive semesters and is under the jurisdiction of the South Carolina High School League.

Academic requirements for students enrolled in the seventh and eighth grades, including first semester 9th graders are:

  1. Students passing the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades by academic promotion pursuant to district policy are considered as having met the requirements for academic eligibility for first semester.
  2. Students in grades seven and eight must be meeting the school district promotion policy at the end of the first semester in order to be eligible for the second semester. (Second semester ninth grade students must meet League academic regulations.)
  3. A seventh or eighth grade repeater shall not be eligible during a school year if academic requirements for promotion were met during the previous year.
  4. A student who previously failed the seventh or eighth grade is eligible during the second semester if he/she has satisfactorily passed first semester work.
