BUILDS ON SUCCESSFUL COVID SAFE
LOVE TRAIN TO FUNK SHOW WITH NEO-SOUL SINGER MARSHA AMBROSIUS TO BENEFIT BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

OAKLAND- Oakland based producer Michael Burdette is out of the chute again with yet another show-stopping performer to push back on the pandemic blues. During October Breast Cancer Awareness Month Burdette slates Neo Soul Singer Marsha Ambrosius with the concert "Ladies Soul Revolution" at the Historic Bal Theatre in San Leandro that will benefit HERS Breast Cancer Foundation.

Burdette’s pre-Labor Day concert, “Love Train to Funk” with Felton Pilate and Con Funk Shun drew nearly 1,000 people for two shows at the BAL Theatre the weekend before Labor Day within the strict protocols of the BAL Theatre. Precautions were taken for both the fans and the performers headlined by CON FUNK SHUN including masking, social distancing, air recirculation, temperature checks, and more.

“We were there over five hours with hundreds of people practicing COVID-19 protocols, nearly 1000 people and everything went smooth during the concert and weeks later, there are no issues with COVID,” said Michael Burdette, CEO of Hylife-O’City Productions. “From security to the performers everyone was on task to make sure we all were safe.

Burdette, who is pushing back on the pandemic’s effect by having everyone corralled on the couch looking at a little box, wants to broaden the horizon of his audiences. “I want to remind people how to move and have a good time in real time, not boxed away and sitting in a house alone or with limited contacts. We've got to 'shake the COVID Blues' as Felton (lead singer of Con-Funk-Shun) said.”

Burdette began announcing in July his entertainment lineup for the Fall at www.hylife-ocity.com. Including the upcoming October 9th show “The Ladies Soul Revolution” headlined with Marsha Ambrosius, the LA-based UK NEO Soul Singer with singer bassist Aneesa Strings. Also on the bill are comedian Zainab Johnson and spoken word artist Ryan Nicole.

“We are expecting to have another successful event like our “Love Train to Funk” with Con Funk Shun, where we included the COVID-19 safety protocol event that allowed the public to meet with the performers,” said Burdette. “So on October 9th at the BAL, Marsha Ambrosius headlines a great event with bassist Anessa Strings, comedian Zainab Johnson and spoken word artist Ryan Nicole will have the last say. It will be a great night and we will benefit HERS Foundation that helps Bay Area cancer patients in need.”
