While nursing is a rewarding and honored profession, it can also be challenging and stressful, especially when you first begin. There is so much to learn, and you may not feel like you can ask questions at school or in the workplace. That’s where KCNA’s MentorLink comes in!
Our nurse mentors will share their own journeys, how they got started, where their careers have taken them and with the benefit of hindsight, the things they wish they had known at the time. You’ll hear from mentors with decades of experience, as well as those who are just a few years into their careers. Together, they offer a wealth of knowledge and advice, including valuable insights on transitioning from school to practice.

Thank you to everyone who attended the KCNA Fall Summit on November 16, 2024. Led by Fawzi Belal, MS, Nursing, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Associate at the Washington Center for Nursing, the session provided tools to enhance health equity awareness and reduce bias in patient assessments.
After the presentation, nurses volunteered to assemble 400 cold/flu kits for Real Change newspaper vendors, applying their learnings while supporting a key community initiative. This service aligns with Real Change's mission for a just, inclusive community.
