Mundelein Residents Urged to Ignore “Community Water Update” Door Hanger Solicitation

The Village of Mundelein recently was made aware of doorhangers placed on homes throughout Mundelein. The doorhangers reference a “Community Water Update.” Please be aware this is NOT a Village program. While the doorhangers depict the Water Quality Association (WQA) logo, WQA has confirmed these hangers were NOT placed by its association and their logo is being used in an unauthorized manner. Mundelein residents are advised to ignore this solicitation.

The Water Quality Association, headquartered in Lisle, IL is a trade association for the water treatment industry with member companies that may provide services like water testing or water treatment equipment. WQA itself does not sell any products, conduct water testing, or participate in door-to-door solicitations. Also.  WQA does not address complaints regarding water quality, nor does it hire subcontractors to conduct solicitations for testing.

You may bring the equivalent of 3 boxes to shred. Staples and paper clips are fine. The most efficient way is to place your items in a paper grocery bag. No plastic bags. To keep the line moving, you will not be able to exit your car and watch the shredding.

This shredding event is for documents only. Please recycle your coupons, magazines and junk mail with your weekly recycling. They will not be accepted.

Pop your trunk and we will take the items. Do not leave your car.
