Some of you receiving this newsletter have been supporting MOM ministry for some time. For others, this may be the first time you have heard of us. Read our story and find out how you can play an integral role in not only helping God's children in Mexico but also growing his kingdom through "the least of these."
James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

In 2007, Geno Rodriguez returned to Panuco, Mexico to visit family. Economic times were hard, and he was horrified to learn that unwanted children were being abandoned, the tiny bodies of newborns even found floating in the Tampico River. God called and Geno answered. With the assistance of friends in Florida and Alabama, including a small contingent of Auburn football players from the 1980s, men began taking week-long vacations to build an orphanage for these precious but unwanted children.

Work was completed the following year, but this small group of Christ followers were unable to convince an outside organization to take over the operation. This group of eight husbands and wives, experienced in building and construction, took a giant leap of faith and decided to run the orphanage themselves. Through obedience, God provided, and Mexico Orphan Mission (MOM), a 501(c)(3), created Casa Hogar, a home that cares and provides for orphans and continues today to change the lives of the “least of these.”
When “Camilla” and her brother “Fleny” were rescued from their step-father's basement, where they had been chained to the floor, Pepe and Lupita, Casa Hogar's resident parents, welcomed them into their already growing family of 21. “Angela,” a precious 14-year-old child, grew tired of being molested by her step-father and walked five miles from her home to the orphanage to escape the abuse. When three sisters were arrested for shoplifting, the police learned that their parents had been forcing them to steal. Casa Hogar provided a safe port for the three girls to weather the storm.
Most of our children have been abused physically and/or sexually. Casa Hogar provides a nurturing and safe environment where God's love is seen through its caregivers, employees, and volunteers. To date, nearly 100 children have begun their healing process here. Our six full-time employees provide three meals per day, clothing, shelter, daily devotionals, and transportation to and from school. All children participate in assigned chores, including how to grow a garden and take care of chickens on Casa Hogar's 10 acres.

Thank you for praying for us!
- Please pray God's direction and wisdom as the orphans at our home begin to “age out.”
- For 14-year-old April and her newborn baby, Oliver, who has spina bifida and hearing loss.
- For Pepe and Lupita, our house parents, as they manage and love the children in their care.

National Giving Day is Tuesday, November 29. It is a privilege to partner with you as we feed, house, clothe, and nurture the children who live here. Nearly 100 percent of your donation goes directly to Casa Hogar and the entirety of it is tax deductible. Just a few of the contributions we have been able to make this past year include school supplies, Christmas presents, and air conditioning
in the children's bedrooms, as well as build a soccer field and provide team uniforms.
Please make checks payable to MOM and send to PO Box 401, Leeds, AL 35094.
