Cybersecurity Funding for Electric Co-Ops and Municipal Utilities

The US Department of Energy has made $15 million awards to the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) and the Americal Public Power Association (APPA) to help small and mid-sized utilities improve the cybersecurity of their generation, transmission, and distribution systems. NRECA recently set up a site within www.cooperative.com for co-op members to learn more about the program and about innovative solutions that can increase security and resilience. APPA members can learn how to request funding at www.publicpower.org. Take advantage of these resources now to help ensure reliable and secure operations.
