Troop Cookie Managers,

Are you smelling peppermint and chocolate in the air? That must be your Thin Mints – delivery is just around the corner!! Deliveries begin on February 1 and are scheduled to go through February 9.

Inevitably, with deliver comes the question “How Do I Get More Cookies?” Here’s how:

You will place an order called a Planned Order). Instructions can be found in your Troop Cookie Manager (TCM) Handbook, on page 4.

Cupboard hours vary by service unit; you’ll be able to see more info when you place your planned order.

IMPORTANT:

You must place your order by 9 pm (CST) on the Sunday prior to the week you’d like to pick up cookies. Once the 9 pm deadline passes, Smart Cookies will default to dates in the following week. Your first planned order is due by 9:00 pm, next Sunday, February 5.

Cookie Booths

Our next Cookiegram is scheduled for next week and will cover transfers and booths but we’ve been getting a lot of questions regarding how troops can take a credit card at booths using Smart Cookies so we’ll address that now!

Before the booth, make sure the booth is in Smart Cookies.

Your booth must be in Smart Cookies. If your troop was assigned the booth through the lottery, the First Come, First Serve process or via the local lotteries it’s been added for you and no action is needed. If your booth was a troop secured booth, you must enter the booth into Smart Cookies to be able to accept credit cards.

• You can either access Smart Cookies via a browser on your smartphone or tablet, or you can download the Smart Cookies app from your app store. (SmartTip: If you already have it, ABC suggests deleting it and re-downloading)

• Do not wait until the last minute to add your booth to Smart Cookies; ideally enter it as soon as you know about it (or at least 48 hours prior). Instructions can be found on page 9 of the TCM Handbook.

• Accepting credit card payments are easy in Smart Cookies. On the day of your troop’s booth (as long as it’s in Smart Cookies) you simply go to the booth tab and choose Take Booth Credit Card. From there you’ll follow the input requests and complete the transaction. This video shows you all the steps and shows you how you can run a report of all of the credit card payments! 

NEW FOR 2023!

Girls at the booth with an active Smart Cookies account can also take credit cards for the booth. We recently resent the email to register for Smart Cookies this past week to those who were not registered. Families should look for an email from noreply@abcsmartcookies.com – be sure to check spam and junk folders! If you can’t find it, email the girl’s full name to cookies@gsksmo.org with a confirmed email address.
