Christ in Our Home

October - December

beginning this weekend.

Sunday School and Youth Group have Resumed!

Barb's Medical Minute

Any edible plant leaves that are eaten as a vegetable are considered leafy greens. Some are more nutritious than others.

  • Dark-color greens like kale, arugula, and spinach are the most nutrient dense. They have vitamins C,A,K,B, and potassium, which protect cells from damage, reduce the risk of some cancers, and promote heart health.
  • Romaine lettuce is the most nutrient dense having Vitamins A,C,K, and potassium.
  • Iceberg and butterhead lettuce also have vitamin A and folate, which helps form red blood cells.
  • ALL leafy greens have nutrients that may help slow down cognitive decline, promote weight loss and possibly help protect against developing gestational diabetes.

Here’s a shock, I will actually eat Romaine! But of course, my favorite (if I must have a salad ) is iceberg—the least nutritious. At least it doesn't look like the weeds in my yard!

Spiritual Care Giver Training

For anyone who would like to be hospital visitor, (officially called a Spiritual Care Giver), and all those who have already shown an interest, there will be a training session on Sept. 26th in the church office at 10:30 am for you. Hoping to see A LOT of you there!
