CLAS is seeking an OSU graduate student, from any department or discipline, with interest in Black Studies and Latin America to collaborate virtually with faculty and students at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) and with Latin American partner institutions in Argentina, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic.
Black Studies Across the Americas, funded by BMCC’s President’s Fund for Excellence and Innovation, is a collaboration between the Department of Ethnic and Race Studies (DERS) and the Office of Internships and Experiential Learning, with support from OSU CLAS. The goal of this program is to enhance Black Studies in DERS courses, as well as fields where Ethnic and Race Studies are not typically represented.
The program will take place in Spring 2022. Applications are now being accepted, with a deadline of Monday, November 29 at 5pm and expected announcement of a decision in early December. The graduate student selected will be appointed as a Graduate Research Associate in CLAS, working approximately 5 hours per week (12.5% FTE appointment) over 10 weeks.
