Pitcher Perfect
You know of J. M. West from her writing on the book, Madam Bessie Jones, Her Life and Times, and her work with Writing Fundamentals Workshop. We are now excited to announce work is beginning on another historically accurate novel about one of Carlisle's Revolutionary War Heroes...a little girl from New Jersey who came here to be a servant and ended up a legend! When the Charles Bruce Foundation offered Phil George of Phil the Thrill Studios the opportunity to illustrate the book about the life of Molly Pitcher, he said he couldn't refuse. Here's a sneak peek at one of the many illustrations he's been working on for the book.
No Longer Invisible
The words of Pat and Phillip LaMarche are once again destined to be paired in the comic world with the artwork of Jason Seaux. What will it be? That's a secret that you can learn on the official release day, July 28. If you are a collector, see Jason Seaux at his featured appearance at the Harrisburg Comic and Pop Con on August 26 and 27 at the Giant Expo Hall at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex. He will have a super exclusive ashcan for the new comic!

By the Numbers
Pennsylvania's largest paint-by-number provided a wonderful trip down memory lane for attendees to SummerFair in Carlisle on June 24th. The massive 4 foot by 8 foot canvas was created for the event by WAM the Spaceman's creator, Chad Bruce. What can you do with such a large, eye-catching canvas? How about giving a some extra attention to our little servant girl from New Jersey who serves as this month's heroine and display it at the Molly Pitcher Brewing Company. Be sure to stop in and give it a look!
Upcoming Puppets
You will notice in our upcoming events that Carlisle Arts Learning Center is hosting a Kursid Kids book signing with writer Ronan Russell and artist Aron Rook. Need something extra to peak your interest? How about listening to the writer's wee sister, Maggie, tickle the ivories with lovely parlor tunes while you eat cheese, crackers, cookies or something even more adorable whipped up by Chef extraordinaire Jason Turner!
Need more incentive? How about making puppets of Dr. Marmalade or Flavius the cat with the artist. You can even purchase copies of the book or Aron's artwork with the comfort of knowing that all proceeds help others. Be sure to mark your calendar for August 4 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Further details in the upcoming events section below.
