CADEN ALLAIRE
Caden Allaire, a player with Casper Soccer Club, is in the spotlight for the month of August!

Caden is going into his senior year at Kelly Walsh High School and has played soccer since he was four years old. He has been playing in the keeper position since he was nine. Caden is an all around athlete, and above all, a great human, as you will soon learn! In school, he plays varsity basketball and soccer. He is also a member of the Spanish Society, student council and is a leader within the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is also in the spike ball club!

Caden attends Highland Park Community Church and has been active in the church youth group. He also plays guitar, cooks, loves to read (his favorite book is Bear Town by Fredrik Backman), and of course, play both soccer and basketball. He can also juggle - and we are not referring to a soccer ball here. 😉 Even with all of this, Caden has managed to keep a 4.0 GPA and currently ranks 5th in a class of 500 students! Since he wants to go into pre-medical studes when he gets to college, this will certainly get him there!

He is known by others to be one who encourages and uplifts those around him. Caden understands how to put his gifts into action, and has graciously volunteered what little free time he has to the TOPSoccer program, a program for young players with disabilities. His club soccer coach, Chris Standbury, thinks the world of Caden. When asked to provide a quote, he provided an essay! Chris has had the pleasure of coaching Caden off and on for approximately six years at Casper Soccer Club and says he would be surprised if the club has ever had a harder working goalkeeper. Caden is extremely dedicated to his craft. He has put in so much work on and off the field, improving his technique, athleticism, focus and leadership. As a shot stopper, he is one of the best in the region. His big frame, intelligent footwork, and ability to read the play make him extremely hard to beat. Gathering high balls sent into the box is another one of Caden’s specialties. His hands are incredible and that’s not all just natural athleticism, it’s also a tribute to his hours of work with tennis balls and other reaction drills. Chris says the number of extra hours he has put in (often by himself at the fields) is unparalleled in his 13+ years as a coach.

Aside from his technique, Chris says, "One of my other favorite things about Caden as a goalkeeper is his ability to stay focused when he’s not busy for much of the game. Although he may only be called on a few times, we can always count on Caden to come through in vital moments. This is a very underrated aspect of goalkeeping—the ability to stay mentally and physically sharp in games where you may not see a lot of action. Communication is another impressive trait Caden possesses. He understands where his teammates should be and helps organize the squad to be most effective. Because of the above traits, Caden serves as team captain. He is one of the most impressive leaders that I have coached and is always one of the first to welcome new or unfamiliar players into the mix. Furthermore, he’s always willing to work with younger goalkeepers and will make a very good coach one day. He’s kind, patient and wise beyond his years, allowing me to sometimes forget I’m dealing with a teenager. Caden stands tall, looks you in the eye when you speak to him, and embodies everything you would want to see out of a young adult. I am honored to have been one of his coaches."

Caden has an impressive soccer resume, having set school records, and been part of a champion team many times, including at the largest youth soccer tournament in the country, the Target USA Cup (formerly known as Schwan's Cup). He guest played for Jackson Hole Youth Soccer when they attended the US Youth Soccer FarWest Regional Championships. He also was selected to attend the US Youth Soccer West Region ODP Camp in 2018. Within Casper Soccer Club, Caden has received the Keeper of the Year award and has served as his team captain on three separate occasions.

Caden is not shy about his faith and he walks what he talks. Caden has had the oppotunity to travel to India on a medical mission trip with India Gospel League where he played soccer with the Indian youth, worked at a leper colony and volunteered at an orphanage. Caden is an amazing young man and you can be sure he will continue on his journey to serve others and put the leadership he displays on the pitch into action in his every day life. We are so thrilled to feature him in the August Spotlight!

We want to hear more about players like Caden.  Remember, the Player Spotlight can highlight achievement in any area, whether it's soccer, academics, community, or attitude. Please share your kids with us!

Wyoming has a massive shortage of referees. Becoming a youth soccer referee is a great way to offset some of the costs associated with being the parent/guardian or avid fan of a soccer player! Soccer players aged 13 and older are also eligible to become a referee - what a great way for them to increase their knowledge of the game and gain some new perspective.

Talk to your club about hosting a referee clinic TODAY!
