Mission of the Month

March Mission of the Month is MN Food Share/Pack the Porch benefitting Catholic Charities Food Shelf. Financial donations are most appreciated due to the buying power they have, as every dollar is tripled. In addition, we've been told that peanut butter is a highly requested item. Jars of peanut butter can be placed in the Food Shelf container in the Donation Center or the Pack the Porch box. Thank you!

Restaurant Fundraiser

The next restaurant fundraiser will be at Nautical Bowls in Waite Park on Monday, March 10th from 10am - 2pm. At least 10% of the sales during this time will go to Place of Hope and our restorative ministry of providing food, shelter, and other services to those in need.

Spring Ahead

In 1918, Day Light Savings established to save fuel and extend workday. Repealed after WWI.
WWII, DST reinstated in 1942 until 1945
In 1966, DST was standardized with the exception of Hawaii and Alaska
In 1974, due to energy crisis DST started earlier. Jan. 6, 1974 and Feb. 23, 1975, Public support dropped and DST was repealed.
In 2005, Energy Policy extended DST by a few weeks. Starting the second Sunday of March and ending the first Sunday of November.
