A reminder to those who will be coming to in-person classes; either upload your vaccination status or get tested (see updated information on testing below). This requirement went into effect October 15. Even if you uploaded your vaccination record this fall, you will need to do it again in the spring.

For those who are not vaccinated, and are taking in-person classes or seeking in-person services, you will need to upload test results taken within 72 hours before attending class or accessing services. The college will be offering free testing 5 days a week (M-F), including some evening hours. Upload results to your Canvas page.

In order to take advantage of this convenient testing option, people will to go one of the following links depending on their status:

You only need to provide your name, address, cell phone number and email address. The college is paying for the cost of the testing, so no insurance information is required.

Once you have registered, you will receive a QR code. This code will be scanned at the testing site when you come to be tested. This allows you to receive your test results within 24 to 48 hours of taking the test. However, if you test on Friday you will not receive your test results until the end of the day Monday.
Student Debt Forgiven Due to Pandemic
Solano Community College District is announcing that debt which students took on and could not be paid because of the pandemic will be forgiven. Paid for with federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) money, the forgiveness affects all account balances that resulted from enrollment in the Spring 2020 through Fall 2021 semesters. All registration holds resulting from these balances will be removed prior to the start of registration on November 15th.

We understand many of you have been hit hard because of COVID-19. By eliminating this debt, we are hoping to remove a barrier that would prevent you from continuing your education. The debt relief will affect more than 5,500 SCC students who will see a total of over $1.1 million of unpaid balances paid off.
Health Center is Now Open
Health Services is now available. The Student Health Center, in Building 1400, is staffed by a public health nurse and a health services assistant who are ready to assist students, staff and faculty in maintaining optimum wellness. All services are confidential. Services are free to currently enrolled students.

The Health Center is open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 7:00 pm and Friday, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Bookstore Extends Hours
The Solano College Bookstore is extending its hours on December 16th, 17th, and 20th. The bookstore will open at 10am and close at 6pm. Rental books are officially due back on December 17th.

This will allow students to still utilize their books for finals and give them a chance to return them by the deadline.
Student Voices Needed
If you are interested in participating in a dissertation study, black male voices are needed. The study is called "Implications for Educators to Implement Culturally Relevant Teaching Strategies to Meet the Individual Needs of Black Males." SCC is supporting this effort and encourages you to participate if interested.
