Manager's Message from Alton Woods
Hello to our Residents at Alton Woods,

Can you believe how quickly the Summer months have come and gone? We definitely experienced all kinds of weather this year, starting with a warm, dry May and June then receiving copious amounts of rain for the month of July. August had several heat waves with high humidity and hot temperatures. I am grateful that Fall is now here. We have been experiencing some gorgeous weather, with cooler temps and crisp cool nights, which many of us prefer. Before you know it we will be getting ready for the Holidays!

We would like to thank you for following the Covid-19 safety protocols this summer while enjoying the pools and fitness centers. We had a successful season at the pool and we appreciate the residents’ efforts to adhere to the pool rules and safety guidelines. The numbers of Covid cases are now increasing again throughout the state. We continue to follow the CDC recommendations for social distancing, the use of masks during maintenance visits, and frequent handwashing. We encourage residents to use caution and strongly recommend the use of masks in the buildings and common areas. We appreciate your consideration and respect for your neighbors and our employees.

The gardens are waning and we ask that all gardeners please pull plants, tomato cages, and other gardening items from the planting area prior to the end of October so that our grounds crew can clean up before the snow flies. Also, please take time to clean up your patio and balcony area. We ask that all items be stored in your attic bin before the winter months.

We want to say a big “Thank You” to all the residents that pitch in and help to keep the Alton Woods community clean and inviting. Our grounds and maintenance staff work diligently to keep the grounds and property looking groomed and polished. We greatly appreciate your cooperation by picking up after your pets, picking up litter, and decorating your patios and balconies.

Upcoming dates of note where the Alton Woods Rental Office and The Hodges Companies Main office will be closed: Thursday, November 11 to honor our service members on Veteran's Day and Thursday, November 25th and Friday, November 26th for the Thanksgiving holiday so that our employees can spend time with their families. The offices will re-open on Monday, November 29th at 8:00 a.m.

We would like to welcome our new residents. We hope you will enjoy your stay in our lovely community. Be sure to sign up for the newsletters and email blasts and give a "like" to the Hodges Companies Facebook page. These publications will help keep you informed of events happening at Alton Woods and in the local Concord area.

Safety Reminders

We would like to take this opportunity to remind our residents about how to stay safe within our community:

  • All bike racks will be removed by the end of October. Please remove and store your bikes.

  • Please continue to practice COVID-19 protocals.

  • Residents should "lock and secure" their vehicles at all times. Do not leave any personal or valuable items in your unattended vehicles. Bikes and personal items that are stored outside should always be secured.

  • Do not prop building doors open or allow strangers access to your building. The security doors/system are there for the protection of all residents.

  • Children are playing outside every day. Please keep this in mind as you are driving throughout the property and respect the 15-mph speed limit.

  • We do not permit soliciting. If you encounter solicitors or suspicious persons in or around your building, please contact the rental office or the Concord Police immediately.

  • We continue to experience serious problems with our sewage pump system due to inappropriate materials being flushed. Toilets are for human waste and toilet paper only! Please do not flush any face masks or personal hygiene wipes down the toilet.

  • For all the walkers and runners out there, it is safer to walk/run against traffic so that you can see what is approaching. Please wear reflective clothing at night!

  • Please do not allow children to play or ride their bikes in or near the carports!

Thank you for your help to keep our residents
and our community safe!

Renter's Insurance
"A Little Pieces of Mind"

You've just moved into your new apartment at Alton Woods and the last thing you’re thinking about is renter’s insurance.  You have a lot to do: setting up your telephone, electric and cable service, letting people know your new address, and deciding how to arrange your living room.  No matter how busy you are, some of the best money you'll ever spend is for renter's insurance. As part of your move-in package, we provided you with information about the importance and benefits of having a tenant homeowner's policy. Rental Insurance is mandatory for pet owners residing at Alton Woods. Your personal belongings are your responsibility to insure and replace in the event of a disaster, natural or otherwise. In addition to replacing your personal items, some policies offer additional coverage for things like relocation, personal liability, or medical payments. Be sure to let your agent know that you live in a secured building with deadbolt locks, a sprinkler system, and that the property is located close to the Concord Fire Dept. Heights Substation. For very little money, you'll have the resources to start over and replace your belongings if disaster strikes. Consider contacting a local agent about tenant homeowners insurance. You'll be amazed how little peace of mind can cost?
