In the midst of all that has happened God is asking us to come and spend time with him, to soak in his presence, and to pray for our families, friends, neighbors and community. With this in mind, we have decided to do a week of 24/7 prayer* in our prayer room at church. We want to invite you to sign up for an hour or two to come encounter God in this place!

*Note: we currently have 24/7 security on campus.

A Word from Worship
Greetings New Life Church family and friends--

It's hard to believe another week post hurricane has passed. I don't know about anyone else, but life seems to be settling into a new normal; which for many of us means nothing seems routine or normal at all. We still are sweeping up debris and trash on our lanai, although the piles are much smaller. This chore will be the norm until we get a new pool cage to keep all those dead leaves and other debris from swirling in with the slightest breeze. As someone told me, that is a good form of exercise for people with disabilities. For folks who work on campus things are anything but routine. Phones aren't always working, and a ping-pong table might serve as a work station. In spite of these situations that could cause complaints and frustration, I look around and see people working together, helping each other out, and reaching out to help the volunteers when needed. I am again struck by how blessed we are. We've been able to have worship services each week with messages that have touched our hearts. In the most stressful and difficult times, I hear this church family say repeatedly, "We are blessed".

Samaritan's Purse volunteers are working hard every day helping our community haul trash, and tarp roofs among other things.

We have received donations that have been sorted, labeled and made available for anyone in need. This week volunteers gave out hundreds of new pillows .  So while things are far from "normal " we are making things work.  And the prayer warriors have been hard at work and available to pray with and for anyone who needs prayer support. Psalm23.4 tells us;
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid  for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. It's a comfort to know God's boundaries are set for our safety and comfort.

Now for an update; I can't find words to let you know how blessed I am by your prayers always, but especially since my recent foot surgery. This journey has definitely been a trial of ups and downs. As you know the post- op infection I've had has threatened not only my health but the integrity of the surgery itself.  The challenge has been to keep the infection under a level of control to ensure a period of enough healing before they need to remove the largest screw, which will eliminate the infection. I've been struggling to get a couple more weeks of treatment before surgery to take that hardware out. Several days ago I developed severe complications from the medication. After a short period of "poor me" I did what I knew would help! I reached out to prayer partners to share this new crisis and they went to work. Sometimes we can't do it by ourselves! Please don't ever feel like I used to: no situation is too big or too small to ask for prayer. Remember what Roman's 12:11-12
teaches ; Do not lack diligence in zeal; be fervent in the Spirit; serve the Lord.  Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer.  This scripture is one I go to often, when I ask God to give me courage and determination to never give up, no matter how hard circumstances may get. I praise Him for His faithfulness, loving kindness and hope! Hope to keep fighting when things look bad and I feel overwhelmed. Let's all keep praying through this difficult situation we are all involved in. If our situation is without problems, then let's reach out to help a friend or a
neighbor.

Just a reminder, please wear your name tag when on campus, to help other volunteers identify us.

I'm praying for you!

Operation Christmas Child
READY, SET…PACK!
Have you picked up your Operation Christmas Child Shoebox yet? If not, shoeboxes will be available after each service in the lobby of the Life Center now through 11/6. Shoebox Labels have been placed on the outside of each shoebox for your convenience for you to ‘Follow Your Box’. The matching code (from the outside label) is inside the shoebox. Inside each shoebox is the “How to Pack a Shoebox” pamphlet with suggestions and helpful hints. This pamphlet also contains a pre-addressed, stamped envelope to MAIL the $10 donation for each shoebox gift to help with shipping and other expenses. You can also donate online, and instructions are in the pamphlet on using the nine-digit code online to activate ‘Follow Your Box’. If you pack more than 1 shoebox gift, donate once for the combined total (write one check) to cover all of them. Please remove tags and packaging from items and write a personal note to each child perhaps with a photo. Don’t forget to mark the ‘Boy or Girl’ and Age Category boxes on the Shoebox Label. PLEASE DO NOT PUT ANY CHECKS OR CASH INSIDE THE SHOEBOXES.  Please return Shoebox Gifts on Sunday, November 13th .  If you need more time, the last Sunday to turn in Shoebox Gifts is Sunday, November 20th. Can’t make it either Sunday? No problem!  The Shoebox Gift Drop Off Center at New Life will be open from 10 a.m. – Noon November 14-20th.  Thank you for participating in this important ministry to reach children around the world with The Good News!
We welcome everyone to help us reach our goal of 30 Online Boxes before November 13, 2022.

Not a shopper? No problem! This is for YOU! Enjoy this 'shoebox shopping experience' without leaving home! Children in over 170 countries will receive shoebox gifts this year.

Please be a part of blessing them with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Enhance their joy!
