Good afternoon, Yucca residents,



There are a few wonderful events coming up soon and it's time to mark those calendars! From learning, to playing, to working opportunities- take advantage of what we have to offer! As always, additional details and registration can be found in the newsletter.


Public Safety in the Park is right around the corner on March 19th! Head over to O'Neil Park from 4-6 PM to chat with our Public Safety team, let the kids see safety vehicles up close, and enjoy some pizza.


The Glendale Family Bike Ride 2025 will be here before you know it! Our Transportation Department put this FREE event together annually to provide access to health and wellness booths, helmet swap, safety information, food trucks, and kids activities! Dick's Sporting Goods has sponsored again, giving you the opportunity to win a new bike! A free T-shirt is given to the first 500 registrants- so register now using the flyer below!


Are you or someone you know looking for a job? The City of Glendale is partnering with Goodwill to host a career expo at the System of Care Center on March 20th from 4-7 PM! Over 25 employers will be looking for talent, including those listed with the flyer below. Please register ahead of time and arrive prepared to interview on the spot. If you need help with preparation Goodwill is offering resume and interview assistance prior to the event!


Did you know that the City of Glendale is looking for artists to design, fabricate, and install unique artwork for the Downtown Campus Reinvestment Project? This artwork will play an integral role in enhancing the city’s identity and the environment for residents, businesses, and visitors. The selected art will be located on the south building facade of City Hall, facing Glendale Avenue. The submission deadline is April 11, 2025, at 5 PM. For eligibility and requirements, please review the details in the newsletter.


Finally, appointments for household hazardous waste collection are available until March 14. This is your chance to safely dispose of paint, motor oil, pesticides, aerosol cans, and much more! Please review the instructions provided in the newsletter and set up a collection if needed.

This is an opportunity to learn about new programs with the Glendale Fire Department and Community Services Department as well as an update from our Parks Department. Household Hazardous Waste Collection


Spring appointments are available from February 24 to March 14.


Collections will take place March 10 to March 28.


*Please have a list of your household hazardous waste items ready before calling Customer Service at 623-930-2660 to make an appointment. Program is not for commercial use (apartment, condos, town homes, mobile home park).

Design the new Glendale Public Library Card!

Rules & Entry

Grab an entry form from any Glendale Public Library or click the button until March 15, 2025. Create your custom artwork to showcase what you love most about Glendale. Turn in artwork to any Glendale library or submit digitally through the Library Services JotForm.

THREE winners will be selected in the Youth (5-11), Teen (12-18), and Adult (19+) age groups by members of the Glendale Art Commission. Plus, a "Fan Favorite" award will be chosen by your votes! 🌟 Winning artwork will be announced publicly between April 12 and April 30, 2025.

Call to Artists (Featured at City Hall)

Eligibility: The call is open to professional artists and artist teams 18 years or older. Local and regional artists are especially encouraged to apply.

Submission Requirements:

  •  Bidders must be registered as a vendor to access and submit a bid. Registration can be done through the Vendor Registration link. 
  • The complete solicitation document can be accessed HERE. Applicants must be registered in the Vendor Self-Service portal to access the bid and create proposals.
  • Application materials are due and must be submitted online via the City of Glendale's Procurement Portal. Submit your proposal HERE.

Important Dates:

  • Submission Deadline: Friday, April 11, 2025 at 5pm MST
  • Artist Selection Announcement: The arts commission will vote on artist selection on May 20, 2025.
  • A final contract will be issued to the awarded artist on June 24, and the design process will commence following the award.

  • Streets between Camelback Road and Missouri Avenue, between 73rd Avenue and 75th Avenue – Asphalt repairs and crack sealing to begin March 10 to prepare for a partial reconstruction (thin mill and overlay) to follow beginning March 24.
