Important Dates/Deadlines

Fall 2021
  • December 10: Last day of classes
  • December 13 - 22: Reading period and finals

Department Debrief: Residential Life
What are your winter break plans? Additional details can be found on the Academic Break Housing Information webpage. All forms referenced below are available via the WashU Housing Portal.
 
  • Staying for the entire winter break
You must complete the Winter Housing/Late Stay Form to maintain access to residential facilities. You will check the box to stay for the entire break once you are inside the form.

  • Leaving for the entire winter break
Complete the Fall Checkout Form to checkout of your fall space only. You may leave your belongings in your room.

  • Staying for a portion and leaving for the remainder of winter break
Complete the Winter Housing/Late Stay Form, the Fall Checkout Form, and the Winter Checklist before leaving campus. You will select a specific departure date once you are inside the form.

  • Leaving the university permanently
Complete the Fall Checkout Form. Detailed instructions for moving out can be found on the Residential Life website. You will need to remove your belongings from your room.

Looking for a ride home over break or a weekend getaway? Want a carpool buddy for company or to split gas?

Check out WashU’s commuter platform, WashU Rides, to search Rideboard listings, post your own, and contact carpool matches. Log into WashU Rides with your WUSTL key and click on “UPCOMING RIDEBOARD TRIPS”. If there aren’t any listed, post your own to get things started.

What's Going On This Month
WUSA League Logo
1) Apply to be a WUSA

WUSA applications for the 2022-2023 school year open on Wednesday, December 8th. Please visit the new students website for more information about the application process. The application is due February 9th, 2022 at Noon. If you have questions about the position, please reach out to your WUSA or the First Year Center, and be on the lookout for more events in the coming weeks and months.
2) WashU Dance Marathon

Stop by Risa Commons on December 4th anytime between Noon and 8:00 PM for WashU's Dance Marathon! WashU Dance Marathon is an annual eight-hour dance party dedicated to the children served by Children's Miracle Network St. Louis hospitals. Included in the event is games, food, fun, fundraising, and lots of dancing.

3) Finals Pop-Up

Finals Pop-Up is taking place on Thursday, December 9th from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the First Year Center (located on the lower level of Umrath House, across from BD). Stop by to get a winter-themed laptop sticker, popcorn and hot cocoa packets, school supplies, and more!

4) Study Break with Dr. G

Join Dr. G, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, for a study break with leashed pets, hot chocolate, and holiday desserts! This event will take place on Saturday, December 18th from 2:00 - 4:00 PM in Risa Commons.
