FEATURED EXHIBIT

Wood River Museum of History and Culture

How in the World

Did You Get to Sun Valley?

This exhibit explores the many reasons and ways that people have come to this hard-to-reach area over time. It is not easy to find Sun Valley and Central Idaho in general, here in the high desert mountains of the American West, but a wide range of people have done so. We profile 10 people and tell the story of their arrivals in Central Idaho through singular personal objects that they each brought with them.

All of the exhibits at the Wood River Museum include interactive elements where visitors are encouraged to write, type, talk, and remember. . . because we are all part of history!

Save the Date! Grand Opening Celebration on July 26.

Book Review: Library Staff

"The book is a love story between two people who work hard

for what they want, and we root for them to get it."

Librarian Aly Wepplo recommends After Sundown by Linda Howard.

Sela runs a general store in a tiny mountain town. She’s shy and prefers to spend a lot of time alone. But she’s always been intrigued by Ben, the reclusive ex-military man who lives in solitude at the top of the mountain.

When Ben warns Sela of an impending natural disaster that could knock out the world’s power grid, she’s not sure what to believe, but she stocks up on supplies—just in case.

Soon, their tiny mountain town is thrown into chaos, and Sela must dig deep within herself to become a leader in the community...

Book Beat: Student Book Review

Hello! My name is Advik and I love to read, write, be outside, and watch TV. For my Book Beat review, I read Divergent by Veronica Roth.

Five Factions. Five options. One choice that changes your entire world.

Beatrice Prior grew up in Abnegation: the faction that values selflessness. Now she’s sixteen, and preparing for the choice of a lifetime: to stay in Abnegation with her family, or join one of the other five factions: Erudite (the intelligent); Amity (the peaceful); Candor (the honest); and Dauntless (the brave).

Beatrice is trying: to be a good daughter, to think about someone other than herself. But she must also take into account her own life; her own path. Which way will she go—be with her family, or be who she truly is?

When she makes her choice, she surprises everyone, most of all herself...
