After our teachers struggled with a case of dengue fever, school is back in session! This is the 5th year the Mission 25 school in Pursat has been running. This year we have 70 students in grade Kindergarten - 4th grade. There are also extra tutoring classes held in the evening for older students. Every Sunday our school holds church services for our students and their parents. This school is making a HUGE difference in its community.

Why Is Education Important in Cambodia?

The target of the Khmer Rouge genocide were the educated Cambodians. As you can imagine, this has had a huge generational impact. Even though Cambodia has seen improvements in their educational system, they are still lacking in many ways. Cambodian children continue to fall behind in school for a number of reasons, including not being adequately prepared for school, experiencing poor quality teaching and learning, and attending school irregularly. This eventually leads to many of them dropping out altogether*.

This is why what Mission 25 does is SO important. Education, discipleship, and the love of Christ changes lives and changes futures.

Because of your support our students:

  • Are reading 3 years SOONER than their peers
  • Have access to early education
  • Have access to tutoring and assistance
  • Have access to a library of books, puzzles, and games.

An investment in education is an investment in the future!

How Mission 25 is Growing

We could not travel to Cambodia for 2 years exactly... But in 2022, Mission 25 was able to travel to Cambodia TWICE!

We have some exciting plans we will be announcing soon, with PLENTY of ways to get involved. To start, we need you to PRAY!

  1. For our NEW teachers in Pursat: We have a group of 3 people who will be coming in to take over for Kong Kea & Srey Pheak in January. We will be introducing them soon!
  2. For a partnership with a hybrid teacher training program in Phnom Penh. This one is HUGE! We are finalizing some details on this SOON and our new teachers will be going to train for a few weeks leading up to January
  3. For the many educational opportunities ahead of us. After our trip in July, Sam and I have a dream for our next Mission 25 school. We don't know when, but we know God has opened some amazing doors...and we want to walk through them!
  4. A team trip! We are looking at taking a team to Cambodia in August 2023! If you would like to join us, let us know!

Your SUPPORT is NECESSARY to the growth of our work. Please consider partnering with Mission 25 to change lives in Cambodia!
