Citizens who wish to provide public comment are invited to attend public meetings or can provide comment by dialing in by phone at the published time. Callers will be provided further instruction during the meeting on how to indicate you wish to speak.

In addition to the grand prize of a healthier Chesapeake Bay for all, the annual “Pump for the Bay” contest, run by the Calvert County Environmental Commission, will award one lucky county resident up to $500 in reimbursement for a septic system pump-out or upgrade completed in 2022. 


The contest is open to any Calvert County resident who hires a company to pump out their septic tank or upgrades to a nitrogen-removing tank between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2022. County residents can enter by submitting a copy of their receipt along with a completed entry form before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023. Full details and entry form are available online. 

The Department of Economic Development is seeking local small business owners who are veterans of the U.S. armed forces and would like to be featured in a spotlight series during National Veterans Small Business Week, from Oct. 31 to Nov. 4, 2022.


A business with fewer than 500 employees is considered a small business.


Businesses must be in good standing with the county and the state in order to be featured. Interested business owners should contact Economic Development at [email protected] before Friday, Oct. 7, 2022.

The Police Accountability Board (PAB), Administrative Charging Committee and Trial Board members will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Harriet E. Brown Community Center, located at 901 Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick and will include time for public comment.
