Principal's Pen

We had a great week of teaching and learning in Cougar Country!

Celebrating Diversity - The Living African American History Museum Assemblies on both campuses were absolutely amazing. As our students K-5 depicted the lives of past, present and future African American Heroes, the audiences were wowed! Every student who participated in the assembly left the audience feeling inspired as they shared the legacy of famous African American Civil Rights Leaders, Politicians, Inventors and Entrepreneurs! The debut of our BCE Mass Choir filled all our hearts. The songs delivered messages of hope to all who were in attendance. Thank you students for your hard work on your depictions of living history and expressions of art through music and dance. A special thank you goes out to Ms. Pointer, Ms. Stevens and Ms. Mathis for your creation of this year's African American History Month Celebration!

Career Day - Our Annual Career Day and Dress as your Future Self Day was a Success! Thank you, Ms. Bowers, Ms. Peterson and Ms. Nesbitt for organizing this annual event. Thank you, parents and community partners, for investing your time in our students.

Staff Appreciation - Thank you PTA, Parents, Students and Community Partners for an amazing Staff Appreciation Week! Every flower, meal, sweet treat, card, hug and smile was a reminder to our staff that we have a community that not only partners with our staff in our academic endeavors but supports and appreciates the contribution of every member of our staff and the impact we all make individually and collectively.

Let Me Run Volunteers

Do you enjoy working with kids and helping them build confidence and teamwork? We need YOU! 🙌 The after-school program Let Me Run needs at least 2 more volunteers to make the season happen! Whether you're an experienced runner or just someone who loves encouraging kids, we welcome all volunteers to join our team! Let Me Run practices are Tuesday and Thursday from 3-4:30pm at the Cotswold campus. The program is open to boys in 3rd-5th grade. Even if you only have availability every-other-week (or more), joining the team and donating any time would be a big help! If you’d like to volunteer or learn more, please reach out to Rebecca Howe. We’d love to have you on board! 🌟
