Message From the Principal

Dear Sullivan Families,

We are excited to start the 2021-22 school year in a few weeks! This newsletter contains important information for the start of the school year.

Teacher assignments will be emailed home on Wednesday, August 11th. These emails will go out in batches throughout the day. If you have not received your class placement by 3:30 PM, please contact the office.

We will hold our Ross/Sullivan Sneak Peek from 8:45 AM - 9:15 AM on August 16th. To allow for social distancing, teachers will be outside on the blacktop area by the playground. Families may go into the school to drop off supplies in the classroom, then proceed outside to meet the teacher. Staff members will be inside to direct you to the correct classroom.

Wednesday, August 18th is the first day of school! Students may enter the building at 8:15 AM. Students must wear masks at all times in the building, except when they are eating and drinking. Transportation and drop-off information can be found below.

Our Ross/Sullivan Parent Night will be held on Wednesday, September 1st from 6-7 PM. Teachers will be on the blacktop for a meet and greet, and parents may enter the building to see their child’s classroom. A Virtual Curriculum Presentation will be sent to families that afternoon.

Supply lists are posted on the website, and can be accessed by clicking here.

We look forward to meeting our students and families in the upcoming week!

Warmly,

Traci Meziere
Principal

Transportation Information
Once again this year, we will be offering “community stops” for the 2021-22 school year. These stops are designed to ease the burden on families with children in different buildings. All schools will share common stop locations.
If you plan to be a bus rider, you should have already received information regarding the Community Stops along with your child's stop location. Should you have any questions, please contact the Business Office.

Car riders will continue to be dropped off and picked up at the rear entrance of Sullivan. Please see the map below for the traffic flow for drop-off and pickup.

Dear Parent or Guardian,

On Wednesday, August 4, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker announced masks will be required for students, teachers and staff at pre-kindergarten-12th grade schools. The new measure is part of the state’s ongoing effort to combat a new surge as the Delta variant rapidly spreads.

The mask requirement is inclusive of youth sports and activities, with masks now required for all indoor extracurriculars and sports. In line with CDC guidance, masks are not required for activities outdoors where transmission risks and rates are lower.

Since this announcement is in line with the health and safety measures adopted by our Board of Education, I don’t expect any changes this aspect of our district’s reopening plan. As always, we will continue to monitor the situation and update you on any changes or developments.

Thank you for your support of our students, and I look forward to a new school year!
Sincerely,
Dr. Angelaccio
