Our Signature Safari Itineraries

With Best In Class Tour Leaders and Guides

Greetings from East Africa.

We are delighted to present you with our Signature Itineraries for 2025.

To provide an insight into the types of luxury travel experiences we create, please view the sample tailor-made itineraries for Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania below. These itineraries can either be treated as a standalone program, incorporated into a longer tour, or modified to match your particular interests and budget. Alternatively, you may wish for us to start with a blank canvas, to handcraft a truly bespoke and personalised itinerary based on exactly what you want and nothing more. Prices will fluctuate based on the time of year travelled, length of stay, accommodation choices, number of participants and itinerary inclusions and exclusions.

Our tailor-made itineraries can also be operated as Small Group Tours, led by our inspiring and knowledgeable Tour Leaders and Driver Guides. Having worked with Dian Fossey in Rwanda at the original Karisoke Research Centre in the 1970s and 1980s, today our Tour Leaders are working at the very forefront of conservation. For example, Ian Redmond, an advisor of Born Free (among others), introduced David Attenborough to the gorillas for the BBC's 'Life on Earth' series and Craig Sholley, a board member of the African Wildlife Foundation, surveyed the conservation status of mountain gorillas in Rwanda, Uganda and DRC in 1995 for the National Geographic Society.

In this month's newsletter, we also outline a selection of the special safari offers available to Travel Advisors who are signed up to our Agent Portal. We provide details of our Familiarisation Trips in 2025, and include a snapshot of recent property openings or refurbishments in East Africa.

Last but not least, incase you missed news, we recently launched Travulous' sister-brand, Drive Into The Wild, which offers one-of-a-kind self-drive safari expeditions for intrepid travellers to discover the beauty of East Africa’s stunning landscapes and national parks, many of which do not feature on the typical tourist itineraries.

SPECIALIST TOUR LEADERS & GUIDES

Our tailor-made itineraries can also be operated as Small Group Tours, led by our inspiring and knowledgeable Tour Leaders and Driver Guides:

Our Tour Leaders, Ian, Craig, John and Peter, are the former research staff and colleagues of the legendary gorilla primatologist, the late Dian Fossey. They will share their stories of what it was like working with Dian and provide insights into how mountain gorilla conservation has progressed over the years. Gladys has joined our tour leader line-up as she is one of the leading conservationists and scientists working with mountain gorillas.

Travulous' team of specialist Driver Guides are licensed by the relevant tourism authorities in Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. Our Driver Guides love to share their knowledge and passion for the region’s wildlife, landscapes, activities, people, culture and history. We are very particular when it comes to selecting our Driver Guides, thereby ensuring they are amongst the very best in the industry.
