Local Roadway Projects
Asphalt repair work will begin next Monday, Nov. 15 on several local roadways throughout Lakeway. Lone Star Paving will be doing the repairs on the following streets throughout all of next week, weather permitting. Repair work will likely take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Drivers should use caution on these roadways beginning Monday:

  • Serene Hills Drive
  • Lakeway Boulevard
  • Rough Hollow Drive
  • Dragon
  • Lohmans Crossing Road
  • Lakeway Drive
  • Explorer
  • Robin Dale
  • Robin Dale Court
  • Cutty Trail
  • Peterson Lane
  • Strader Circle
  • Peninsula Way
  • Sailmaster Street

Roads will not be completely shut down during the project, but expect significant delays throughout the week on Serene Hills Drive. The other local roadways will have some minor delays. Lanes will be reduced and flaggers will be present on high-traffic areas. After the repair work is complete, an asphalt overlay project will begin on these roadways within a week or two, possibly happening the week of Thanksgiving. Keep an eye on our website (lakeway-tx.gov) for the latest updates.
Upcoming Holiday Events
TRAIL OF LIGHTS:
The holidays are just around the corner, and we're excited to bring back a Lakeway tradition and local family favorite. The City of Lakeway Parks & Recreation Department is preparing the Trail of Lights with a special "Lights On!" Ceremony that will take place starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 4 at City Hall (1102 Lohmans Crossing Road). Santa and Mrs. Claus will be present to turn on the trail lights and get some gift ideas from some good little girls and boys. There will also be music, cookie decorating and a variety of other activities that evening. After the ceremony, the Trail of Lights will be lit every evening through the remainder of the year on the trail system located directly behind City Hall.

HANUKKAH:
New this year, a menorah will be in place near City Hall to celebrate Hanukkah, which takes place starting the end of this month. Local Jewish families will light the menorah each of the eight nights around sunset starting on Sunday, Nov. 28 and running through Monday, Dec. 6. If you'd like to participate in the ceremony any of those evenings, please email us at [email protected].

SING ALONG PERFORMANCE:
Finally, join Lakeway Sing Along for their popular Christmas Show on Sunday, Dec. 5 at the Lakeway Activity Center (105 Cross Creek). There will be two performances (2 p.m. & 4:30 p.m.). Reservations are not necessary, but come early to get a good seat. Price of admission is an unwrapped gift for a child up to age 17 for LTlov's Green Santa Program. Have questions? Call the Lakeway Activity Center at (512) 261-1010.

Lake Travis Algae Update

The latest update from the LCRA showed no detection of cyanotoxins in 16 sites tested on portions of the Highland Lakes, including Lake Travis. Tests have not shown toxicity in algae in the lakes since June, when small amounts of cyanotoxins were determined to be present. LCRA began testing lake water earlier this year, including at City Park for signs of the toxins following dogs getting sick around lake water in the Hudson Bend area. While no signs of the toxins are currently being detected, LCRA still encourages pet owners to be cautious on area lakes. CLICK HERE for more details.
