Rec Goalkeeping Clinics

Mac Phillips, FC Richmond's Director of Classic Teams and Goalkeeping, along with Coach Gabe Renes, are holding goal keeping clinics for our younger recreational goalies this month. Keepers have been working on proper goalkeeping posture, learning three types of catches, and developing the courage to dive and keep the ball out of the net.

Tournament Success

Congratulations to two FC Richmond teams who came home Champions at recent tournaments!

At the River City Cup Tournament the U19 Rec Team Lucas came home with hardware after winning all of their games during the tournament.

Our U16 Mystx Elite won their bracket at the WAGS Rael Vodicka Tournament. This tournament is one of the top all girls events in the nation. Congrats to both teams on their success!

Volunteer Recognition

We are pleased to recognize U16 Mystx Elite player, Alli Gregori, for her volunteer commitment to FC Richmond's Recreational program.

"Alli has gone above and beyond helping with the U4 Clinics and the Advanced Skills Program this season. Her leadership and guidance with our younger players shines through and is truly a gift. She is approachable, knowledgeable, and is always willing to assist (not to mention she always has a smile on her face)! In addition to contributing to the successes of the recreational clinics, she has also has played an integral part with our youth referee program. Alli has mentored several new referees and frequently fills in for other refs when needed," says Elizabeth West, Recreational Soccer Coordinator.

Alli loves spending time with the kids and watching them develop. "I enjoy getting to use what I’ve learned and help them get better every day. I love seeing these kids have fun playing soccer and how they love the game as much as I do. They are so energetic and always make me laugh," Alli says.

Thank you Alli, for your leadership and commitment!

Volunteer Coach Appreciation Day

Volunteer Coach Appreciation Day is just around the corner! We would like to say THANK YOU to our Volunteer Coaches on Saturday, October 29th. Come see Junior Board members at Robious Middle School from 10am-1pm for coffee, sweet treats, and drawings for prizes! Thank you for all you do!

Fun Fit Friday

The FC Richmond Junior Board hosted Fun Fit Friday, an afternoon of games and challenges that help promote a healthy lifestyle! Recreational players ages 6-10 participated in stations including obstacle courses, giant dice fitness, ball skills, yoga, races and a healthy lifestyle chat. A great time was had by all!

Beyond the Game Player of the Month

Evan Gaines, from the U18-19 Magic Elite team, has been giving back to his community through his service with the Ronald McDonald house, cooking meals for families in need. When asked about his motivations behind volunteering Evan says that his mom’s involvement in the community has inspired him to help whenever he can. He also notes that “knowing there are families that aren’t financially able to experience that things [he] can with his family” encourages him to give back. Evan says his favorite part of volunteering is seeing the smiles of the families’ faces after they get a meal cooked for them. He says his contributions have helped him grow, and appreciate everything he has. Overall, Evan is someone who helps as much off the field, as he does on, and really gives back. We are lucky to have him in our community.
