GCBS Assistant Professor Jessie Atterholt, PhD, published a paper in the open access journal PeerJ: "A histological survey of avian post-natal ontogeny." It is the most diverse histological study to date of post-hatching growth in birds, and provides important insights for interpreting paleohistological data.

From the College of Veterinary Medicine:
CVM Professor Joe Bertone, DVM, MS, DACVIM, has been invited by the Global Animal Welfare Advisor of the Brooke Institute to speak on sleep and neurologic disease in horses and donkeys. The event is targeted at international veterinary teams who are based in Asia, Africa and Central America.
CVM Assistant Professor Suzie Kovacs, MSc, PhD, delivered a webinar in September for the members of the California Veterinary Medical Association as well as non-members. The webinar was titled "Diversity & Inclusion in the Veterinary Profession: Why It Matters."

COMP-Northwest Associate Professor and Vice Chair of NMM/OMM Janice Blumer, DO, FAAO has published a new book on the history of the osteopathic profession called Strong Medicine; Honoring the Women Pioneers of Osteopathy. This was the cumulation of 10 years of data gathering and a chance encounter with the great-great granddaughter of the first woman graduate of an osteopathic school. Similar to “Hidden Figures,” it brings to light many of the accomplishments of the first women in the profession. It can be found on Amazon Books.
